This family owned trattoria a couple of blocks away from the entrance to the Vatican museums was a wonderful treasure to find. The service was welcoming and the food was the best we had while in Rome. We shared a salad, the eggplant parmigiana (the best I've had anywhere, and the bucatini alla amatriciana. Our entire meal cost 25 euros.... More

Visited this lovely little restaurant today for an early lunch. Loved the homely atmosphere and freshly cooked traditional roman food. The owner used to be an actor and has some lovely photos all over the restaurant which makes the place even more interesting😎

We wandered here on our way from the Vatican to the metro station. We wanted something lighter, so we ordered 3 vegetarian small plates - artichokes (4 euros), eggplant parmigiano, (5 or 6 euros) and the tomato stuffed with rice, served with potatoes (also about 5 or 6 euros). The waiter was charming and we enjoyed our little meal outside... More

Delicious Italian food, the best of the whole trip. Friendly service, great house wine. Tiramisu is delicious. Going to the Vatican, we will certainly repeat.

You cant eat pizza there, because this is traditional roman restaurant, and they will offer you not rich menu, bur good enough. The owner and the Chef of the place - Giggi is very interesting person. He doesn't know English but its not a problem, he perfectly understands you.The only problem - the food is too salty.

I made a small trip to Rome in februar this year. This restaurant was between my hotel and St. Peter's Basilica. It was every time delicious food, very tasty. very good service.

We accidentally found this place after a long visit in the Vatican, while crawling back to city Center. What a great surprise! Good place to rest and eat well after an exhausting Vatican tour. Nice and quiet place, locally oriented. Antipasti was best we had in Rome, same goes for the eggplant Parmesan.

The food was not too bad but one appetizer was cold. The service was mediocre as our plates were removed as soon as we ate our last bite. It was not that crowded so it was not as if they needed the table. And then still..

Like every Italian, I love to eat well, also having a trip of few days; during my past long week-end in... More

Very nice, warm and friendly restaurant. I eat an amazing lasanha and in the end an even more amazing cherry tart (that I still dream about :P)

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
