Sostegno was recommended to us by a waiter in Naples, FL. He was from Rome...and he directed us to one of the best dining experiences we've had in Italy over the last four year! Our waitress was very kind, did not rush us, and had excellent recommendations! We started off with a cheese plate (super yummy); then shared the Cacio... More

Great place to eat, but you need a reservation or you won't get in. Food and service was stellar. Prices are good. Our waiter's wine recommendation was excellent. Highly recommend!

Situated down a little alleyway not far from Piazza Navonna but nicely tucked away! Wonderful dinner with terrific service! Carbonara was out of this world and chicken saltimBoca was to die for!! Prices were good too.

Typical roman food in a very central location. Food was very good for anything you are looking for roman food. For best rated something special is missing, but service was very friendly.

For years I walked passed the little 'alley' so many times and saw the restaurant at the end of it without actually making any effort to view the menu. The day I did I kicked myself for having been so neglectful (i.e. stupid and lazy). The melanzane sauce is to die for. Always choose it for the first course before... More

This restaurant is up from the Pantheon and right on Via delle Collonelle, off Piazza della Maddalena. It is somewhat hidden, down an alleyway. Just don't fool yourself into thinking that people, especially locals, don't know where it is. They do. Apparently, lots and lots of people do, locals and tourists alike. Best to call ahead and make a reservation.... More

This is where the locals go. Its a cosy and homely place down a lane way around the corner from the pantheon. It has an extensive wine menu and a brilliant selection of modern roman food. We had the eggplant parmigiana it was tasty. I have been here before and the food was very good.

A hidden gem in Rome - lovely ambiance, rustic charm with delicious food to match. The service really made our night as the staff were friendly and happy to share their knowledge of wine and matching food. Highly recommended.

It's hidden between buildings down a nondescript road nearby the Pantheon...usually a good sign of an off the beaten path establishment. We had trouble making reservations online but they accommodated us right away. They helped with selecting a good red wine for dinner. We ordered the beef filet and chicken, it was pretty mind blowing. Housemade tiramisu and the best... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
