Very glad we visited the Ara Pacis. Compared to other museums, there weren't many people there, so it was a peaceful visit. It is wondrous how the architect designed this building so that one cannot hear the outside traffic at all while inside. This important monument to peace was worth viewing, is very beautiful, and quite well preserved. We could... More

The restaurant was recommended by the hotel concierge after we had requested for an introduction to a pizza restaurant that served square pizzas. We ordered simple parma ham and melon as starters followed by quattro stagioni pizza which as it turned out was round... Of course this was slightly disappointing but more disappointing was the quality of the food for... More

I really liked the building and the Japanese photo exhibition. The main monument is simply and beautifully displayed. Shame no cafe. Shop a bit limited- seems a missed opportunity. The building could do with a coat of paint to bring it back to perfection.

I love the exterior wall decoration that contains wildlife and scenes of nature. The better preserved scene depicts the sacrifice of a pig by an old priest. I prefer the sculpture of scenes of peace.

We loved this restaurant so much we ate there twice. The food was magnificent and our waiters, Toni and Serafeno were wonderful servers with charming personalities. Do go there to dine. And don't forget the Tiramisu. As Serafeno said, I'll take three Tiramisus and one spoon. Ha, love the place.

Great little gem in shopping district. Seafood pizza was okay but the pasta was great! Place is bit more away from the busy shoppers, nice relaxing place for lunch.

We came across this restaurant on our walkabout. We decided to eat inside rather than sit outside as it was still rather chilly. Once we had ordered the food, it came quite quickly. Again the food was what I expected, good quality, freshly made and flavoursome. Again not disappointed in our selection of restaurant

We went at 9:30 am one morning and we were told by the person at the reception desk that they were cleaning the monument and it would not be ready until 11:30 am Not sure when the cleaning schedule is but keep this in mind. You can see the structure from outside on the street at night.

This building has a very modern achitecture and a very old purpose: host the remains of Cesare tomb. It's a quick visit that is very worth your time. The area aound it has interesting places to go eat.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
