We were greeted with a complimentary glass of wine and a genuine smile. All the staff were friendly, helpful and provided good suggestions when asked. The food and the wine were really good. We can thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anybody.

The place is not necessarily cheap but worth every penny. Alessandro Tissino - the chef and the soul of this place gave us the best of his hospitality and charm (his English BTW is absolutely fluent - for sure better than mine, he also speaks French and I believe a few more languages). The food was simply delicious - one... More

By far one of our best dining experiences in Rome. Interesting menu, great prices and amazing food. We started with mussels with ginger, they were delicious and they even had gluten free breads for my wife, who is celiac. We then shared octopus salad and gluten free pasta with lemon and sea bass that was incredible as well. Our server... More

We fell upon this wonderful restaurant by chance on our last evening in Rome. We were looking for somewhere special that offered more than just pizza and pasta. We found it at Cozze & Dintorni. The chef/owner was extremely attentive, informative and modest. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. We ordered for starters octopus salad, mussels with wine and mussels... More

We were 6 Americans with our 3 Roman cousins. The staff was great. The chef even came to our table personally a couple of times to make sure that everything was right. We started with cozze, octopus salad, and baccala'. Everything was very good, but the octopus salad took the prize, and we were all pleasantly surprised with the baccala'... More

The meal was a comedy of errors unfortunately, although the atmosphere indoors is quite lovely. There were a few tables of dinners that evening; many of them got cozze so that might be a place to start. The octopus salad was good although it was warm. The tuna was wholly uninteresting. There were many oddities that we have not experienced... More

Turned the corner from our B and B and there it was, nobody there so we werent sure about the place. The chef was standing outside and we chatted so decided to give it a try. The mussels were the best I have ever had! The wine delicious and the fried anchovies were hot and crispy. Spaghetti was perfect. It... More

We went here because the reviews were generally pretty good and touted as a spot with many good gluten free options. We were also looking to check out the Trastevere neighborhood. The restaurant was pretty easy to find and in a really cool neighborhood. It was small and cozy but very swanky and we were excited about the experience. Unfortunately,... More

Passing by this restaurant and reading the Tripadvisor reviews (the app makes life so much easier :-)..) We decided to have dinner at this place. We were not disappointed. The owner is very friendly and explained the menu. The specialty of this place are the mussels in all different styles, we had them with orange, pesto and ginger (very nice... More

By a chance we ended up without a reservation to this great restaurant located in Trastevere. Stylish and cozy furnishing, but despite rain in Rome’s darkening night we stayed on the street terrace. Food was tasty and full menu was available as gluten free too. Service was great, especially by the owner of the place. We stayed longer as expected... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
