We did not enjoy this restaurant which was poorly ilumianted, had creepy pictures on the walls, served food not too good with incredibly high prices which for some reason did not appear on the menu as a number.

Food taste is ok, but portions are tiny, while prices are high. Choice of food is very limited too. Atmosphere wasn't nice either.

We ate dinner one evening at Sofia, a small quaint restaurant near our hotel. We both had the pasta recommended by our server which was good. We asked about the house red wine and he explained it was from the Cesanese red grape variety which we knew about and liked the wine. It was a delicious red wine. We ended... More

We are in Rome for a 5-day break. Before we left the UK, I booked a meal at ristorante Sofia, based on various review sites (TripAdvisor among them). My wife opted for the lasagna, while I ordered the amatriciana dish. Neither of these were by any means special - the lasagna was on the dry side and comparatively small, with... More

Went here for dinner on one of two nights we spent in Rome. Had a cheese plate, pasta, dessert, and a bottle of wine. Wait staff was wonderful and very helpful, food was delicious though we didn't care for the dish my husband ordered. The atmosphere was quiet, light, artsy, and romantic with the only downside being we were almost... More

We had a great dinner here that we really enjoyed. Amazing restaurant with very delicious food, choice of drinks, very reasonable prices and (pet) friendly, helpful staff. Will recommend!

Loved this place, great atmosphere and really lovely food. We had the lasagna with pistachio which was delicious and the ricotta and lemon ravioli. Portions are perfect, big enough without making you feel over stuffed. Tiramisu desert was also to die for.

Visited for dinner on a Friday night. Able to get a table without booking. Nice ambience and friendly helpful staff. Lovely focaccia bread and home made pasta. Excellant deserts and coffee. Good local wine. Served biscuits with coffee which was a nice touch.

Cozy, bright space with friendly staff. Food was excellent, with some nice twists out of the ordinary. We had a lovely lasagna with fried ham and pistachios. Fish was nicely prepared. Portions are not large, but "miniature" is an unfair characterization. Wine list was disappointingly slim, but we had a very nice Venetian white with the help of the waitress.... More

Sofia is our pet dog and mascot,…. a friendly and loving Jack Russell who accompanies us in our adventures. This is why we decided to give our most precious project her name!

An intimate, family-run restaurant with very few rules of thumb:

a menu which respects the seasons, using the finest of Italian produce, always fresh every day;
traditional Italian recipes together with other dishes specially created by our chef, and inspired by the flavours and colours of Mediterranean cuisine;
our desire that your lunch or dinner take place in intimate surroundings and make you “feel at home”.

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
