Fairly friendly customer service in a friendly, quiet atmosphere. Mid priced. We were told that orders under 10 euros are cash only, so we trekked about 7 minutes to the nearest ATM. Once back, we selected the Bronte Pistachio and Lemon Ricotta flavours. For us, this was average gelato. We prefer gelato that has a thick, creamy texture and milk... More

As gelato freaks, we read a lot about how it is made and how to distinguish between mediocre (unnaturally bright colors, pans piled very high etc) and excellent as well as who does it the best in Rome. Fatamorgana has several locations in the city and we hit most of them! You will not find the creative flavors that these... More

We went to the branch in the Monti by Plaza d. Zingari, and it was tricky to find but worth the search. The flavors were strong and creative.

We went there twice in 4 days even though I was trying not to repeat gelaterias. The pineapple flavor is out of this world, so is their coffee flavor. The best part is the service - very patient and when my son couldn't decide they offered more flavors for him to decide saying they knew what he might like.

The Prati gelateria had wonderful flavours to choose from and the gelato was perfection. Every bit as good as Gelateria de'l teotro

Probably some of the best gelato we had all week. Had the mint which had mint leaves ground up in the ice cream, fruit tasted like fruit as well as having delicious vanilla and chocolate. The counter person seemed a little unfriendly and there was no bathroom.

This is the real stuff folks, not the fake gelato made at many of the gelato shops with the heaped up gelato looking pretty. In Italy your have to try gelato. Hopefully it can be the real fresh ingredients like they have at Fatamorgana.

On out food tour we visited Gelateria Fatamorgana. A fantastic and amazing experience. REAL GELATO (and not the fake one we were thought). There were literally houndreds of different flavors. There were all the traditional ones and then there were all the "experimental" ones which were amazing. Tobacco flavor? Black rice flavour? Wasabi flavour? Chocolate sorbet? Pear and gorgonzola flavor?... More
