We were handed a card earlier in the day promising live music/dj. We returned later that night to a rather dim and cheaply decorated restaurant with none of the promised music. I didn't mind that. The guy outside who tried to get us in promised fresh food but it was obvious that the lasagne we both ordered was not fresh... More

Having walked our legs off all day we stumbled across lovely Mauro who was very genuine!! Wanting changes to a set menu was no trouble!! 3 courses €15 amazing Italian food. Great atmosphere friendly staff... Huge portions unsure how they make any profit!! Wish we returned our second night can not beat this place!!! 👍🇮🇹

Canteen style eating at its worse. Sears's outside and u sit right beside stranger. Not even a micro millimetre between tables. Just plonk people down. The food was cheap... can't grumble there but this is italy.... surely they would know how to cool pasta? Mine wasn't even cooked properly The main was chicken with potatos..... my chicken looked like it... More

Just one block off the Pantheon and you can have a fantastic and inexpensive Italian meal. The traditional roman dish Cacio e Pepe was creamy and delicious! Also one of the best pizzas we have had in Italy. Both the crust and the sauce were great. We were a table of 12 so I think we had a little bit... More

The Habana Cafe located a short block east of the Pantheon is a sweet family-owned restaurant serving up authentic, delicious pasta. The Cacio e Pepe (pasta with white sauce, pecorino romano cheese and black pepper), a true, genuine Roman dish, is prepared to perfection and really highlights the subtle flavors and simple, fresh ingredients that make authentic Italian dishes so... My wife and I were ravenous after a busy day of site seeing. While walking back from the Pantheon to our hotel, we were greeted in the street by an upbeat chap called Mauro who offered us pasta, pizza and seafood. Deciding to dine here, we waited while our table was prepared, we wanted sit outside under the heaters and... More

Really liked the service and the heaters out side were a plus. Also Mauro kept the street sellers away so we could eat in peace. Enoyed our starter and pizza, followed with a lovely dessert! Thanks for the food and making it a fun eveing.

Good food good price didn't have to wait long, just the ticket for resetting after 30 hours travel from Australia. Unlike some other restaurants in the area, they don't sting you with a hidden service charge and accept credit cards (and their machine even seems to work)! We're going back tonight.

Not what we expected. We have read that it's good and cheap. Cheap yes, good no. The pasta was not good and not tasty. I thing the food was not so fresh or that's what my stomach said after our dinner here. The service not so friendly. Yes it was cheap so I thing we got what we paid for...

An employee on the street told us how fantastic the food was, and promised us free drinks for eating at the restaurants. The decor was really not flattering and the plastic chairs were lower than the benches which made my boyfriend feel like a child seated at an adults table. The drinks came as promised and we ordered pasta which... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
