This was our first place to have dinner upon arrival in Rome (May 28) and thank goodness it did not set the tone for the rest of our trip! The hostess was completely unwelcoming and just an unhappy person. She didn't look at us as...More

We used to love 'Gusto on a Sunday evening. Great food, relaxed atmosphere right in the center of Rome, next to the Ara Pacis. But recently it's become very touristy, both in terms of clientele and food quality. A shame really. 'Gusto, please keep up...More

Gusto used to have excellent food and to be very popular with locals. Whenever we went, only about 10%-15% of the patrons around us spoke anything but Italian. Now the pizza is less than mediocre. And the staff is downright surly, acting as though the...More

Called in for a late lunch having just arrived in Rome. Not the warmest of welcomes as we wanted pizza (think they prefer lunchtime customers to have the buffet). Our five pizzas were superb and varied. Really fresh ingredients in great bases. Service wasn’t rushed...More

We were recommended Gusto by a trusted local. Every other recommendation was wonderful - alas, Gusto fell short of expectation. From the lack of service (I had to keep going up to the bar to ensure things ran smoothly) to the length of time waiting...More

Maybe we were unlucky tonight but we should have known from the " less than warm welcome" we received when we arrived this may not be what we had hoped for. I ordered the artichokes to start as this is a recommended dish to have...More

Great food at a great price! It's a great place to meet up with friends over lunch. Week-day lunch buffet has a great price, but it's not 'all you can eat'. You only get one trip to the buffet, but the plates are big and...More

Restaurant adised in several tourist guides. We familie of 4, ate 2 starters, 2 pastas, 1 bottle of suggested wine 46euro, water and bread as usual, but not asked, they served it without asking. The waiter had a good suggestion for main course: fish... We...More

We sat in the pizzeria part of the restaurant. They have many options of pizzas, including vegeterian styles and wholewheat dough. The pizza we took was excellent, but keep in mind that a whole meal can be expensive.

Very pleased with our meal last night. Pizzas were good with a lovely crusty base. We tried the stuffed olives which were good too. Wine of good quality but usual Rome price of around 30 euros a bottle but some cheaper ones. Great ambiance with...More

Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields
to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most
desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best
place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and
Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with
enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s
best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a
fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to
