Visited after a friend said this was her favorite cacio e pepe in Rome so had to see for myself. We went right at noon after a day of walking at the Vatican - it’s about a 5 minute walk. The staff is so friendly...More

I discovered the restaurant some years ago as it was close to my hotel. It's very close to Cola di Rienzo and not far from the Vatican area. I always come back. Italian food is excellent, service is great and personal, prices are more than...More

I have been going to Il Matriciano for over 40 years ever since I lived in Rome as a teenager. When I was first introduced to it by friends it was a gastronomical revelation - not in the sense that we usually ascribe to 3-star...More

This is one of my mandatory restaurants in Rome, especially in late spring / early summer. They make the best marinated artichokes in Rome, and my favorite roasted lamb and potatoes. We often wind up here after a long stint getting into the Vatican, so...More

This is a real Italian restaurant, frequented mainly by Italians. Not the one of the tourist dives you find so often in Rome. Friendly, professional service. Delicious food and excellent wines make this restaurant a good choice.

Came for the first time nearly 20 years ago, was excellent, Came back 6/7 years ago was average. Went last week was mediocre....what next? Time to change owner and team for a fresh start...as everything looks tired. Cannot recommend.

We were given a recommendation, by a local, for this restaurant. Our experience was amazing, from the food to the service we could not have been happier. This is an old restaurant I think they said 100+ years. Our servers Giuseppe and Rehman were attentive...More

Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is
the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in
a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is
a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and
wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every
shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and
gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but
that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets,
