Our waiter reminded us that service was not included in the bill and suggested a 20% tip. Although, we had not paid a service fee for any other meals we added the tip. The waiter changed his order ticket to reflect a charge for 32.00 for wine. I can only assume that this is done to keep a the "service... More

Every time I go to Rome I eat here! Can't get past the Penne Norcia (although all the food is amazing) I go specifically for that! So creamy and delicious with the Norcia sausage!!

Stopped here for lunch, had cold Antipasto, Spaghetti Carbonara and Tiramisu. Probably the best meal I've ever had in Rome. Service was excellent and prices were very reasonable. I can't wait to go back.

Located close to the Vatican, this restaurant put all the faith back into eating out. Good value for money. The food was the best we had in Rome! Wish we found it sooner! From the pasta to steak, cappuccino to dessert it's a 10 out of 10 for us! Will definitely be back next time in Rome!!

Not the typical place in the area. This is more authentic and it shows by the kind of customer. Food was fine, norcina sauce pasta a good option. Prices are not high Service was fine but too oriented to get a tip if you are a tourist. It is the only place in Rome I was told "service is not... More

Stopped in here for lunch before visiting St. Peter's basilica. We thought it was excellent, with great service. It was nice to be somewhere a few blocks off the beaten path without throngs of people. We seemed to be the only tourists.

Delicious, authentic dishes, helpful service and a warm, inviting dining room made this one of our favorites. The Rigatoni Norcini is a not to be missed specialty. The Veal Saltimbocca is excellent as well. To enjoy sampling more of their delicious menu, consider sharing a antipasti and a first or second course among two. Their house wine and desserts are... While we were waiting for lunch all the desserts arrived and got put in the glass case...it made everyone at the table drool. We were not disappointed, especially the apricot tart! I had the spaghetti with meatballs and the pomodoro sauce was truly good with nice little chunks of tomato in it. Everyone's meal was delicious, and the sever was... More

This italian restaurant near the Vaticane and St. Peters Church is in a busy street, but with a modest facade. Locals and priests eat there, and if you find it you will discover the best spaghetti with meatballs. The waiter is like the actor Buster Keaton, not a smile, stoneface - but very efficient and he offer a good service.... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
