Our last time in Rome, we read about Spirito Divino but didn't get there. This time we had one night and made it our destination. We are very glad we did. Romeo, the host, is charming. He tells the story of the building, it use...More

From the moment I arrived I knew Spirito di Vino was special. The owner greeted me as if I was the only person to ever enter his domain. His description of the history and age of the location enticed me downstairs to view the ancient...More

We come here after visiting the coliseum. The owner told us the walls were older than the coliseum and originally housed a synagogue. The meal was extraordinary. We shared the pasta carbonara and then I had the filet with a vegetable quiche. The meat was...More

This place was recommended to me and I am glad it was!! Everything we ate we loved. They let you tour the wine cellar below and it is spectacular! The history, the wait staff, the wine, and the food at this place are out of...More

This a quaint restaurant in a building that is over 1000 years old. The owner is very talkative with a great commentary on the building and food. They serve very authentic Roman dinners. I had the boiled beef and my wife enjoyed the bone in...More

Yes it's a little touristy but the building is extraordinarily old and the cellar even older. The food is really good - I enjoyed the pasta dish most as did the wife, but "Caesar's chef's pork recipe" is tasty. Dessert is outstanding and the atmosphere...More

This is a gimmicky place and caters to tourists, but the food is far better than most tourist restaurants and you will have a good meal, but not a great one.

Excellent location, overflowing with history (as is most of the city) but very well presented. Very kind hosts who were proud of their restaurant, their food, and their heritage. Moderately price considering the location and quality. While you're waiting for your food, ask to see...More

The food and service was excellent. We has the pasta with salmon and the steak, along with the pudding I think it was. The owner said it was an ancient recipe everything was relish. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
