Long story short, went for drinks in the late afternoon. The hostess told us we could sit outside, but then we were told that we would have to go downstairs. We ordered 3 mixed drinks and a glass of wine... 30 minutes later we had drinks. We watched the bartender make the mixed drinks and pour them out several times... More

Travelling with a vegan and vegetarian in our party finding high quality restaurants is not always easy in mainland Europe. So it was a genuine delight and surprise to find Il Margutta. The restaurant was recommended to us by a city wonders tour guide and we visited last Tuesday night . We were lucky and able to be seated quickly... More

Tonight I had the misfortune of attempting to have a meal at il Margutta, the food was bland and the service appauling. I left without finishing the meal, after asking for the bill twice I got up to go and suddenly the bill appeared!! Do not bother to go here there are far better restaurants in Rome.

Even though everything was made with care and attention to detail and presented very well, it will not satisfy a hungry person. The prices are same as other places, but the portion sizes are 1/4th of what a normal size would be. So, please, please do not go there if you are hungry and looking for a satisfying meal. I... Very underwhelmed with this one. Uninteresting art clutters an ok restaurant with a good menu, let down badly by a very slow kitchen. Won't go back.

Dear guest, Sorry to hear that you didn’t appreciate our exposure of Frank Denota paintings. Frank Denota was born in 1966 in New York where he lives and works. After his studies he devoted himself constantly and totally to art. He attended a few art and painting classes, there after was commissioned decorative job orders, but soon abandoned the job,... Had lunch here on a weekday. Everything that I had from the buffet was great. The only down side was, that it was a bit difficult to understand how the buffet worked (there was an assortment of different sized plates and pots, apparently you were allowed to take one of each and fill it up with salad, soup, mains, etc.)... We were excited after having read so many great reviews but were disappointed. We had the dali platter to share with assorted starters and really did not like any of them... The food looked great, but the taste was bland. I asked what the waiter recommended for a main course and upon her advice took the fried cabbage balls -... More

This is an unpretentious restaurant which serves reasonable food at reasonable prices. They are very accomodating with a pleasant wait staff.

What a treat to be able to go a restaurant in meat-loving Italy and be able to choose anything on the menu knowing that it will be vegetarian! So much choice too and very high quality cuisine. Meal was delicious.
