We stumbled across Taverna Angelica on a detour back to our accommodation, and we are delighted that we did! The service was impeccable from the moment that we walked into the restaurant, and the complimentary glass of prosecco was a lovely touch! Francesco and the waitress with the white glasses (sorry didn't catch your name!) were both excellent. They were... More

I went here for Valentines with my girlfriend.. Waiter and service in general was very professional..They recommended a great inexpensive wine as they said it was perfect for the food we had chosen.. We chose the set meals.. The fish and meat options.. Really nice and I can honestly say I was left totally satisfied.. Do recommend

Found this restaurant on trip advisor and wasn't disappointed. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to a table next door to the temperature controlled wine display impressive. We started with a glass of complementary prosecco and an amuse bouche. We had goose breast with honey walnut and green apple... More

First i have to say that the wines were good and staff ok. That's where the good things end. We had five different mains and none of us really liked our plate. I had the veal and it was like eating overcoocked dry pork. The dish didn't have any seasoning. I don't know how you can make a good piece... More

Trying to be rude like you I should say: "DON'T TRUST THIS PERSON!!!" He ate all the meat (tasteless ?!? Why did he? ) and so did all the rest of his group (seafood soup, king prawns with aglianico reduction, fillet of veal). Actually the only thing he did not like was the bill. As he admits he likes to... More

We ate here last week, two adults for an evening meal. I should state from the start I very rarely make it to 3 courses but I made a special effort here as every dish was stunning. We booked our table in advance, although this may not have been necessary as it was not busy on arrival. We were seated... More

A free prosecco and amuse bouche to start! Food was very good quality and it's clear that chef is very proud of the menu and it's all cooked really well and tastes amazing. My starter was a little on the small side but other than that no qualms. It was a quiet night so the owner spent time talking to... More

We were a large group with some fussy eaters and the service and food at Taverna Angelica was amongst the best we had in Italy (and that's really saying something). Mariella really went out of her way to make sure we had a great night. Strongly recommended.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
