This place was recommended by our hotel as "one of the best restaurants in Bologna" so we booked for our first night in the food capital of Italy. It appears there are two parts to the restaurant, a fine dining area and a bistro area and we were ushered into the fine dining area. Personally I don't enjoy feeling I... More

Our experience at this restaurant was a tale of two reactions - excellent food, somewhat spoiled by terrible atmosphere and indifferent service. The dishes were excellent - pastas cooked perfectly al dente, main courses of sea bass and rabbit both delicious. However, under no circumstances allow them to seat you inside. There is no ambience whatsoever, and waiters walk past... More

The best pasta I had in Italy. Cooked to perfection, prepared with black truffles and funghi, really amazing. Good winelist, some interesting wines from various regions of Italy. Highly recommended.

Caminetto is one of those restaurants that pays homage to Bologna as the 'fat city'. The restaurant serves traditional bolognese dishes with a modern twist. Antipasti for the Mrs and I were salads. I can't really remember the names, only that mine had apples and my wife's had anchovies, both delicious. Primi for me was tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and... More

This is high end Bologna and we were pleased we made the effort. The dishes were all cooked perfectly and all had just a little extra something that made them special. We drank local wine as directed which was rich and sumptuous. The cafe at the end of the meal was the best we had in Bologna. The service was... More

Food was really tasty here, and the wine paring the helped us with was fantastic! We had lunch here, sat outside and enjoyed every minute of it! Will most likely visit again in September, see you then!

Although we had emailed them to say that our plane was arriving late we were told off when we got there. that settled and the service was actually very pleasant. The food was good but not anything special, certainly not as good as we had hoped it would be from the reviews. However, in retrospect it was the best that... More

We found the restaurant in the osteria d'italia 2016 guide, and had the hotel to book a table for us. The little restaurant was worth the search, the food is excellent italian style with that little more that makes it special. We had the full 4 courses, including the wonderful tagliatelle al ragu bolognese, well actually it was 5 courses... More

Modern interpretations of classic dishes as well as dishes that reflect chef's own creativity. Deconstructed vegetable lasagne that retained the flavors of the vegetables. Tagliatelle incredibly flavorful. And vanilla ice cream with aged vinegar. Sounds weird but 24 year old vinegar has a sweetness that complements the vanilla ice cream and makes a delicious dessert. Staff was very pleasant and... More

This place seems small at first sight, but when entering in more and more dining rooms become visible. Still we were lucky to find a table for two on Saturday night without ordering. Sea food pasta was delightful, with fresh shrimp served halved lengthwise for easy handling, and light, lemony, freshy sea-smelling sauce. Cheese balls in green pea soup was... More
