Da Francesco is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Bologna but still inside the ring road, just. This traditional Sicilian restaurant brought back memories of a visit to Sicily and having eaten our weight ( almost) in Parma ham we craved some seafood. We were well rewarded. The sign on the door offered two plates for 13 euros.... More

Don't be deceived by the simple looks and modest location. The food is excellent, service very friendly, and nice atmosphere. The fish and seafood are amazing. I asked the owner about the swordfish. his answer was: "optimo". He was not kidding, it was the best swordfish I ever had. The house wine was a delightful Sicilian white, and we finished with... Small and minimal, freshness and taste is delicious. A little bit poor the wine assortments and sometime the waiter is unpolite but also this is an Italian experience Food however is compensating greatly

We went to Rome for a week and were so impressed that we went back to Francescos! The food was great, especially the pizza and squid. Staff were friendly and there was a nice ambience that did not feel touristy. Good quality not overpriced food-would definitely recommend...and will be going back when I return to Rome!

Went on a Monday and it was closed and walked all the way again the next day and it was worth it. The waiter spoke to me in Italian but I winged it and just went with whatever he recommended ( which is the way to go ) and everything was fantastic. The house wine was great and the various... More

Small restaurant slightly out of way, a good 20 mins walk from the city center. A casual restaurant with nothing fancy One of the few restaurants that will serve you tap water rather than force you to buy bottled water. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. Service was prompt .

Starter pane e panelle with deep fried little sardines was tasty , but was surprised to see it in a burger bun!! Italy meets America, perhaps! Linguine with mussels was delicious although I felt my pasta was a little undercooked. My husband had the tuna covered with black sesame seeds, delicious and the fish fresh - that was a better... Typically Sicilian restaurant, although we didn't each the fish, it looked wonderful. Pasta was a delight, cooked as you'd expect. A little pricey but again you get what you pay for.
