With the plastic draped around the restaurant to keep the cold air out, the plastic permeated the atmosphere, the food and the service. If they were giving meals away for free, they would have to pay me to eat there
We all wished we had seen these earlier reviews! I agree with others that’s it’s a bit shady. You don’t receive a bill. They just tell you what you owe and you pay the grandma near the door. If you don’t pay attention to what...you ordered and how much it said in the menu, you will pay more than what you had thought you would. Pay attention!! Oh, and they only take cash!!!View is great! As sun sets, bugs start landing all over table and food!! We had to eat fast and leave!! We will not recommend or go again...ugh!More
Didn’t check Trip Advisor first as we did n’t have WiFi and the attraction with the view to have a sunset dinner intrigued us.
We should have known when we arrived and the place was full of American tourists and no ‘locals’ that something wasn’t...right.
The waiter was fat and sloppy and took forever to bring our drinks.
Half way into our main course the flies swarmed onto our food and we all probably consumed more flies than food.
Then when we got our bill we were told they only took cash and we never got a bill. The ‘mamma’ wrote everything down and we couldn’t understand her scribble. Our bill should have been €84 but we were charged €101.
This is a disgrace. The elderly couple behind were overcharged €20 and they couldn’t do anything either.
This place is a health hazard, a rip off and they probably pocket all the overages to split letter.
We travel all over the world and this is our absolute worst experience ever.
Don’t take this 105 steps up to see a view to be taken advantage of and they know tourists will fall for their trap.
No wonder locals turn away when we asked about this restaurant as they know their game.More
We asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar and were given packets versus actual bottles. Our food came with bugs on it. The food was only ok. Definitely, had better food in other restaurants in Vernazza. Pass...
Wish we had seen the other reveiws before going here. Very disappointing and least favortite meal of our trip. Service was so-so, and food was not the quality of what we've had elsewhere. most expensive meal of our trip to boot! Weird experience paying the...bill where you take it to a woman who writes it all out and then you pay her cash. They give you complimentary shots of lemoncello but that did little to change our opinion ofhte meail.More
Truly the worst dining experience I have ever had. The patrons were absolutely horrified at the behavior of the waiter. Clearly does not like tourists and is in the wrong business. We didn’t give him the chance to take our money because we saw his...treatment of others in addition to our own and decided to walk out. View was awesome but you don’t get to treat people this way and expect them to take it. Shame on us for not checking this place out before going or I would not have gone. Good news is we are at a fabulous place with delightful service down a few doors on the main drag.More
Avoid this place at ALL costs. Not only was the food disgusting, the service was even worse. The prices were the same for restaurants which were 1000 times better. The waiter brought out our drinks after we had already finished our food, and only remembered...when we had reminded him. Not only that, the "aperol spritz" that we ordered came straight from a store bought bottle. Absolutely disgraceful. This is the utter definition of a tourist trap. It put a terrible taste in my mouth both figuratively and literally. Disgrazia.More
Lunch today. Waiter was friendly and helpful, but then I was relaxed and polite with him. Food was really tasty, house wine was fine and cheap. View was great. The Nonna was a bit blunt, but then I'll take that over obseqious US-style bumlicky nonsense...any day. Overall, really nice lunch if a bit pricier than expected.More
Going to this restaurant is like going to the Accademia in Florence to see the Statue of David only to find it has been replaced by a papier-mâché version made by local school children.
The difference is school children would actually have cared for their...craft which is not something you could accuse this restaurant of doing whatsoever!
The view is spectacular, the dining experience is anything but. It should not be allowed in any part of Italy, anywhere.
This waiter is rude, obnoxious, condescending and angry. The fact that at every table we could see he treated the female diners with disdain means that we should also add misogynist to his none too impressive resume.
He is a blight on his craft.
Which brings me to the food. Mass produced, reheated, drenched in cheap olive oil, so lacking in flavour they have actually added personal touches like hair (and god knows what else from the kitchen). Please see attached photo for full effect. It was inedible. You can do better. Anywhere else. Everywhere else.
It’s such an unbelievable shame. Don’t waste your time, money or ruin your holiday in Italy here.More
