This little restaurant was recommended by someone from Genova, and I was not disappointed. Highly recommended by the people of Genova who are its patrons. The food was fresh, of very good quality and well priced. Well worth a visit.

It is not just a touristic restaurants, mainly local people eat there what is always a guaranty for good food. Typical Genovese food, great different kind of pasta, great pesto, good house wine and fair price.

We went here twice during our week long stay in Genoa following a recommendation from the owner of our B and B. We enjoyed it so much on our first visit that we booked to eat here again on our last night. On both our visits the restaurant was packed with both Italians and foreign tourists giving the place a... This is the 3rd time we have been back in just over a week! Absolutely loved by locals, both Saturday lunch and Saturday dinner were packed (we were lucky to get a table!) I then booked for Monday evening and thank goodness I did because it was just as packed! As we sat there drinking our delicious house wine, eating... More

Pesto originates from Liguria because of the abundance of nut-bearing pines in this region. Forget the beige gloop of UK supermarkets, here they serve the real thing made with basil and olive oil. We tried it with trofie and with gnocchi, both home made light and delicious. Ricotta cheese and polpetti (meatballs) also delicious. Very nice wee place and they... More

We stopped here after a recommendation from our hotel. It is a busy spot with locals and we where squeezed in just. So book or come early. We had a few starters and the signature gnocchi with pesto. All was good and enjoyed. The service was great.

We ate at Il Genovese several times when we lived in Genoa for 3 months from April - June 2016. The owner is really nice and proud of his pesto, which is spectacular! We went with our 3 kids and I also took business colleagues... always great food and good service! Their hours are Monday - Saturday: 12:00 (noon) -... More
