Due Piccioni is a pleasant, intimate trattoria, natural in appearance and approach with wood trimmings and homey decorations. Service was friendly and helpful. The chicken liver pate was workman-like and pleasing, true to Piemontese style bound with butter. The crespelle (crepes) with asparagus was drowned in basemella (bechamel ) to the point that neither the crepe nor the asparagus could... More

We are regular visitors to Stresa and thought we would give this restaurant a go in the interests of trying somewhere new. Firstly we called in on our way to have an aperitif elsewhere to check they had a table as we were bringing two guests. The waitress who greeted us tried to persuade us to skip the aperitif and... I suppose the trout had a baleful reaction getting drowned in an alcholic ocean (poor reckless fish living in a little sweet water lake!!!!). Yes, but who else will end up like the trout??? Should the manager filed a complaint against a castaway for defamation? I don't think so. We have confidence in the peoples' intelligence and irony... less in... More

I had stopped reviewing stuff for a while but I have been eating so well this trip that i thought i should do a couple of quick pieces. This restaurant is really good and cuisine is modern. Lake fish for starters was tasty and my rabbit with olives excellent. My wife had a good zander dish. Deserts were splendid and... More

This is a very nice restaurant with friendly staff. It is decorated very tastefully and feels like you are sitting in someone's dining room. I had vegetable quiche for starters and hubby had the pate which was a very generous portion and delicious. I had ravioli with ricotta cheese & hazelnuts and hubby had beef. This was a very tasty... I had visited this restaurant about 3 years ago and was so impressed that I rang in advance to book a table in bad Italian on this latest visit. When we arrived the restaurant was empty but it soon filled. The food was amazing once again. For starters we had the lake fish (5 different varieties of fish which all... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were fortunate to find a table on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant did not look much but we were served excellent meals by friendly and helpful staff. We would eat here again.

We normally choose a restaurant which appears busy, so although this place has an appealing menu there was only one table occupied, so we were a little hesitant. On asking for a table for two we were asked if we had booked, after consulting a list the waitress said she could fit us in. Any fears were quickly dispelled, as... More
