I have been there numerous times. In fact I have reviewed it in the past. I decided to do it again as my satisfaction remains unchanged. I often go there for business dinners, the atmosphere is quiet and therefore perfect for discussions. The food is of high quality with a menu that changes with a certain regularity. Staff efficient and... More

we wouldn't have found this restaurant ourselves, located in a very narrow dark street where you don't find many tourists. it was the lady of the risoelatte (also a wicked restaurant) that referred us to this place. we were welcomed by an utmost friendly landlady who did her best to explain her menu in english (and even asked other guests... This restaurant was convenient for our accommodation in Milan. Food good, service good and restaurant busy.

On tiny S. Tomaso street you'll find Taberna San Tomaso where you'll get home made Italian food and share a table with the locals. You start at the counter to place your order then you are shown to a table. Big baskets of bread sit on the community trestle tables and you'll probably be eating with local business men or... More

As an Italian, born and raised in Milan, I have to say this place makes an excellent risotto. Cooking this dish takes mastery as the grain must stay intact during cooking but soft enough. The other crucial part is the balancing of tastes and they are able to accomplish it marvelously. Their risotto is special. If you are looking for... More

You can get a better Italian meal than this in any London suburb. The food was poorly made and tasteless. The Arrabbiata sauce was bland and had no bite. We paid for the 27 Euro meal with two twenties and initially only got 3 Euros change. We had to ask for the 10 Euros owed, which they did return.

I went to San Tomaso with friends and had a mix of starters (culatello, crema di fagioli alla Maltese, piadina) followed by a most wonderful mix of grilled meat and vegetables! To finish with a lovely desert (catalana). Thumb up!

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
