Lunch with the family after visiting the Brera markets. Able to get a table for four without reservation. The food is delicious, with a fish "soup" that is more like a stew, a good scampi pasta with nuts and yellowtail carpaccio with avocado puree. Portion sizes are quite generous. Service is good and efficient, although a little impersonal, as is... More

Had the fironetina topped with fresh alba truffles which was excellent. Appetizer was zucchini flowers grilled on a bed of fava. Open wine selection was also top notch. Excellent

Convivial provides a convivial atmosphere, no background music, a nice outlook into Via Ponte Vetero, a church and the narrow streets of Brera, solid food and a reasonable wine list. The service was friendly, professional and helpful. A lovely lunch stop in the Brera.

Visited Brera gallery and then decided to get dinner. Walked around area and discovered a nest of restaurants in the side streets, mainly catering to tourists. However this restaurant was on the main road opposite the church and had a very large menu, including many fish dishes as well as pizza. It also looked quite nice inside, with one very... More

The whole experience was great, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic. The wine was delicious, but everything was a little pricey, as you would expect in Brera. A sea bass dish without any vegetables or sides was 23euros!

Sea bass covered in crushed pistachios accompanied by aubergine purée and a nice glass of Barolo. Staff efficient. Atmosphere semi formal, but comfortable and relaxed. Very good feel to the decor. I would recommend a visit to this restaurant.

My wife and split 3 courses and a side. First came age beef with goat cheese - wonderful, we had never had that before. Second sea bream on fettuccine - ok, not great. Third was lamb chops with deep fried artichokes and a side of grilled vegetables - a great combination. Our wine was local wine - grigolino which tasted... More

The two best aspects of this restaurant are its convivial atmosphere and its extensive wine list. The place bustles but not overly so, and while the menu is broad in offerings I rank it as good rather than great or special. That does not, however, detract from the pleasure of dining here, for the owners and staff are vivacious and... More

We went there with our two kids of 11 and 13. The restaurant is very nice, the service is quick and efficient. They have a great selection of wines at reasonable prices.

Staying in Brera

Neighbourhood Profile
Brera captures the real essence of the city. It is an excellent mix between history and modernity, where tradition meets innovation. Here design and beauty reign. On Via Brera there are the famous Pinacoteca (galleries), the National Gallery of Modern and Antique Art, and the Academy of Fine Arts. Interior design boutiques and intellectual cafes are typical of the district. Walking along Via Madonnina is a must to admire the architecture of buildings and the design stores. On Sundays, going to the local market is an unmissable opportunity for fashion, style and art. Tucked away, there is the Orto Botanico di Brera botanical garden that seems like a painting framed in an ancient fairy structure. Last but not least, it’s worth a visit to Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli with its Planetarium, the Civico Museo di Storia Naturale (Natural History Museum).
