The cafe is quite spacious and beautifully decorated. It's not cheap but certainly good value for money. The cakes and small pastries are rich and decadent, the stuff friendly and the coffee brilliant. Put these together and you have a great pastry shop that you might want to visit. They also sell lots of their baked goods in neat little... More

I went to martesana several times both for breakfast and for buying cakes. The place is fantastic, the quality of their product is excellent even if it is very expensive.

I came here to buy some pastries and cakes based on the shop's reputation and it is well deserved. I had a few mixed pastries, which were delicious and fresh. The apple pie I got was pretty special, with a soft lime taste. The best one was the chocolate mousse cake, which also had a raspberry back-taste. Service, which was... More

I visit this place every time I am in Milan. They have great Italian pastries and one of the best chocolates in Milan (chef owned many awards). Best place to buy panetone in the Christmas time and Colomba for Eastern.

This wonderful pasticceria has won numerous prizes and it’s easy to see why. Everything they do is excellent, be it the pastries, cakes, biscuits, ice cream (in Summer), the panettone and pandoro (in Winter) and even the selection of little presents are beautifully presented. We are regulars and we are never disappointed. The croissants are always fresh and wonderful and... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Bicocca
Although Bicocca is a peripheral district, many visitors will find it appealing. The district is enveloped by the immense Parco Nord (North Park), one of the largest parks in Europe. Inside is the theater Arcimboldi, one of the most important contemporary theaters where concerts and shows are organized. In the same area, there is the University of Milan Bicocca, whose distinct architecture rivals a movie set. Coffee shops, a multiplex and a shopping center are in the campus, along with the Fondazione Hangar Bicocca, one of the most famous museums of Contemporary Art.
