Invited by friends, read the reviews on TripAdvisor after the visit. Before reading the reviews I was thinking the experience was underwhelming, after reading them even more so. The service was polite but unhelpful. The food was nothing special. The grilled beef was served rare. The waiter didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked. After it arrived almost uncooked,... More

... at least the atmosphere should be more discrete, with softer lighting and more discrete ambience. In short, less show off and more understatement, in line with a certain Milanese flavour. Excellent hospitality and services as well as the appetizers and risotto con zafferano. Great wine selection.

I can't add too much to the extraordinary reputation of this place. One of the oldest restaurant in Europe and in the world. I came here this year a couple of time during the truffles season (white Alba truffles). Always very high level experience for food wine and service. I strongly recommend for business lunches and dinners and also with... More

It's a must in Milan. Everybody with gastronomical interest should visit it and taste its wonderful cooking. Service is polite and nice, all in a perfect atmosphere, and as I mentioned before, the food is wonderful, I recommend "la cotoletta alla milanese", for sure the best in Italy.

After visiting Manzoni's pretty house I was already suffering form a slight form of temporal displacement - crossing the cobbled piazza to enter Boeucc seemed a logical next step. And yes, you do come here for the show - the columns, those curtains!, the liveries and strict ranks of the corteous camerieri, the amicable way they greet returning patrons. In... More

I placed a reservation for my husbands birthday dinner a couple of weeks ahead. Even tough I had gotten a confirmation, even with the aknowledgement of the special occasion, there was no table ready when we arrived. When we entered the restaurant, we were left waiting at the entree for several minutes without somebody as much as caring to explain... More

The food and the service are impeccable. The decor iis somewhat out of fashion. It is a place with a long tradition and is excellent for a business meeting. It is quite expensive though.

There are many restaurants in Milan, that remain the same from the day they open, same location, same decor, same food. Why change, they are very good, proud and immutable. Boeucc is one of them, sharing the square with Alessandro Manzoni's house, The classic old Milanese streets, a stones throw from the Duomo and the Scala. Already open in Verdi's... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
