My wife and I were recently in Milan on a business and culinary trip. As usual, our first supper was at Da Giacomo, a venerable restaurant reminescent of turn of the past century Milan; Which we love and it never disappoints. Seafood is wonderfully and simply prepared and its freshness is evident in every morsel. A salute to the curteous... More

This is a really cute gem of a restaurant where for us the highlight strangely was the waiting to get seated as we were thrust a couple of glasses of Prosecco and had to do a number of pirouettes to avoid oncoming waiters and waitresses dashing around with platters of salt encrusted Sea Bass etc in full view of all... Once in a while you find a gem again: like tonight. Everything just made sense: interior is like using a time machine without getting tacky, most competent, professional yet sympathetic staff I came across in Italy: from A to Z. We Had the Turbot and Classic Milanese: both superb, wine was excellent, deserts of another planet, prices in line with... More

Served by Joelle at the Giacomo Tabbacceria amazing pea, cheese and bacon soup. Joelle was so lovely and passionate that we have now booked drinks at Giacomo bar and restaurant this week. I hope the owners read this as he was excellent

Pleasant ambiance, but the food does not really live up to appearances. Only the desserts and cakes are excellent - they have their own patisserie just over the road which I can totally recommend. Maybe a change of chef could help?

First of all the restaurant stuff was really nice, spoke english and was very helpful. The italian wine what they recommended was amazing. We had raw seafood for a starter and then grilled fish and pasta. Everything was delicious! If u want fresh italian food, that is the place! Btw the desserts were unbelievable!

Thank Aneta P
