Another recommendation from Guide Book. Authentic local cooking in a relaxed atmosphere. A little way off the main Duomo piazza, but worth finding. Risotto Milanese with saffron and veal delightful. Polpette (wrapped in cabbage) and so tasty. Excellent value - and friendly helpful staff.

Would recommend for traditional food - had amazing rice dishes and veal! The waiters and owners were lovely and we had great service and food and were made to feel very welcome. If you want traditional food we recommend this place as it has a rest atmosphere - we ordered the amaretto dessert and it was fantastic!!!

This was probably the best meal we had in Milan The restaurant is old-school Italian with a large number of shared tables. Booking is recommended though if you don't want to share it's probably best to say so when making your reservation. Our lack of Italian wasn't a problem as we had a really good waiter who was at pains... More

We're glad we chose this restaurant for dinner. It has the typical Milanese plates and we ordered cotoletta and ossobuco. The dishes were very tasty and the personnel were very friendly. While it has a very central position on Navigli district it's not a tourist trap.We would definitely come back the next time in Milano and I highly recommend it.

Tables are all set for 6-8 people, so if you dislike having to share your table you will not like this restaurant! Lovely food but you may need google translate to help with the menu! Great choice and large portions! Lovely staff and very patient with us! We added a third person at dessert time without warning and they had... More

My girlfriend and I had a dinner in this restaurant in the evening. Firstly our impression was good because of the atmosphere and decoration of this place. Indeed we had expected to have an excellent, premium quality and traditional food but... That was not! Actually, that was industrial way of cooking without taste. The elements in our plates were dry... More

There was nothing particularly wrong with our meal. It just wasnt the best that we've had. The service was nice. It was a bit slow. The cover charge was 2.50 per guest (I haven't seen that in many places in Milan). We ordered the caprese salad to start as well as the catalan shrimp. I dont think the Catalan shrimp... More

Located near the Canal, La Trattoria Milanese offers superlative cooking with professional and excellent service in a rustic atmosphere that is also air conditioned. Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
