All sandwiches were really great, wine was good. There is barely place to sit, but you can grab the sandwiches and wine and eat it outside.

I visited Al Merca on my last day in Venice, while on a food tour. It was AMAZING! I wish I had known about Al Merca before being in Venice. Great food and great price.

Friendly service and very reasonably priced. It's cash only, though. They have a variety of tiny sandwiches and, of course, prosecco!

We were near the Rialto Bridge and we saw this little place that was packed with people, so we had to stop and try it. Once you get up to the front of the line, you pick out the little sandwiches you want and give...More

I’ve visited this little hole in the wall many times over the years. Still friendly, great value and quick service too.

We passed this place while roaming the Venice streets. It is great for a quick bite of food while on the run. Everything was delicious.

The best Spritz in Venice for 2.50! Combined with a 1-2 euros sandwich! Can it get better than this, this is not a tourist only place, it is filled with locals at aperitivo time or Saturday’s at noon, just after visiting the market. Or after...More

For me, there is no better place to stand and watch the world go by in Venice, than this wine bar. The location is great - at the edge of the Rialto market area, next to the judiciary so lots of uniforms and braid walking...More

Literally stumbled across this bar after crossing the Rivalto bridge. Locals were drinking out in the street after work and were welcoming and friendly. 4€ for a red wine and 1.50€ for a pommette torro which was a tuna cased in potato (yummy) abd their...More

Literally a hole in the wall, so beautiful, the staff were friendly, we were surrounded by locals and tourists which is always a good sign. €7 for a glass of prosecco and a beer in Venice is an incredible price! We really enjoyed drinking here...More

San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the
Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six
sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest
neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the
markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops
display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San
Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi)
stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San

Monday-Saturday 10AM till 2.30 - 3 PM for sure. They are closed on Sundays (because there is no market on Sundays). Several sites (for instance Lonely Planet) mention that they also open from 6-9 PM. However, the times I... More
