Spent part of a rainy evening here and hung out with a lot of locals and college students. Compared to the rest of Venice the drinks and food were a bargain. After a long day we hung out here for an hour or 2 before heading off to dinner. Later when we walked by there were a lot of young... More

Great stop for a drink (excellent Bellini's) and to soak up the vibrant atmosphere in the piazza. Note the operational hours though, I think they are open from 10:00 - 14:30 and 18:00 - 20:00, but stand to be corrected - info on the web is not correct.

The place is located in a very popular place near Rialto bridge so it is a perfect pick for a stop during sightseeing tour. In Venice it is difficult to become unique at anything. Their niche are original bread with a great quality meat. As all good places they are regularly overcrowded so we were forced to give up 2-3... More

Just a hop off Rialto Bridge, this bar is one of the many very popular wine bars in the area attracting young local crowds and tourists alike. The wine is sold by the glass at very reasonable rates and if you prefer to go it with a cheese and meat platter, there is really nice deli just next door offering... More

Amazing little bar tucked away in a small square near the Rialto mercato which drew a large crowd every night we visited. It's small and only opens at 6pm and closed around 8:30-9pm but probably depends on demand! They sell great wines by the glass from around €3 and small snacks for around €2. A pleasant place to while away... More

Recently visited twice during our visit to Venice. The wine was really good and super cheap! We purchased two glasses of wine for 4 euro. Would definitely recommend for a quick drink / snack whilst in the area.

This is the best place in Venice for a wine fix, and cheap ! But don't be in a rush to be serve as everyone seem to go here to have their apéritif

We loved this place! We went as a group of 3 after walking around the city all day. It's got a great atmosphere, with locals and tourists mixing with drinks. You can get a spritz or glass of wine for 2-3 Euro, with small slider-like sandwiches for 1.5 Euro. We were really happy we stopped by here.

This place had great reviews and didn't disappoint. It was one of the most lively bars we visited, outside standing space only. Despite the cold we enjoyed the vibe, the drinks and polpetti were good and the price excellent.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
