Here's a real, traditional Venetian restaurant! So traditional that you'd have to yell to make yourself heard across the table over the lunchtime racket--and you'd have to get up and run to catch a waiter. A "fish" is an animal that has fins and swims...More

This was a featured restaurant on my travel blog: jcmarxblog.com This was an easy walk from where we were staying. It was raining on the evening we were there, but this place made us feel nice and cozy. A quiet table against the wall, and...More

Went to this place on recommendation of a friend and could not have been more pleased. It's hidden a bit down a back alley, a hidden gem for sure. The meatballs with polenta are out of this world. We loved it so much we ate...More

Went here on the strength of it being the top hit for "meatballs in Venice" Lovely tasting spaghetti/meatballs and great service. Tiramisu was amazing!

It's quite strange reading a review from the other night saying it was terrible, because we loved this restaurant!! The quaint little restaurant is right around the corner from our b&b and had a lovely homely feel and good ambience. We shared the mixed seafood...More

A typical venitian ambush! Unfriendly very poor food, I think that the widow has taken her cooking secrets, if any, within her grave. Starter as simple as vegetable, done without any taste, meatball not well cooked no comment about the polenta.

We were invited to Ca D'Oro by our Italian friends to taste real old-style traditional Venetian cuisine. And ir really felt like everything is very old and authentic here, starting with interior and ending with crockery. This place is known for homestyle meatballs and they...More

We return every time we're in Venice, and the cicchetti seem to get better and better! The meatballs are a must--crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Also, we had the crispiest, most delicate fried zucchini blossoms I've ever had there (perfect with...More

We had our first meal in Venice here and it set our standards high. The restaurant is located in a back alley away from the touristy part of the main street & we loved the decoration & atmosphere inside. The host was welcoming when we...More

Our first night in Venice and four of us all enjoyed our meal! Meatballs are delicious - everyone must try! I had the pesto pasta which was so full of flavour and delicious! Tiramisu for dessert which did not disappoint! The house red wine is...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Not for the bar. Recommend you stay for dinner - you'll need a reservation for that. Gets very busy on Sunday evenings too.
