Good quality food, especially recommend the pizza - italian style super thin and good tasty toppings. Very pleasant staff. Not masses of atmosphere but it was Monday night in November - not their fault! And not fine dining and prices are in keeping. Near to Campo Santa Barbara. We were happy with meal and this is Venice where below average... More

This is in no way a genuine restaurant but how many genuine restaurants are there in your home town? Of course students and younger people (and there are many of them in this part of the town) wants a place to hang out in and they don't want a place that looks like grandmas house. Not that this place is... More

Not a restaurant that will give you the scent of Venice. Average food and a little bit expensive. Had the past with mixed seafood and a pizza. Just average.

Expensive and average pizzas. As a family of 5 we dined here on a Saturday in October 2016. We were seated quickly but the service was v slow after that. As per title we had 5 pizzas 3 starters 2 beers 1 bottle of water and 1 Diet Coke. I thought for £130 it was v expensive the £12.50 cover... More

We both ordered pizza for lunch. It was pretty good -average for Italy. Most of the tables ordered pizza, salad, and some pasta. One gentleman ordered the fish while we were there and it smelled awful - we thought he might get sick later that night. There was definitely something wrong with it. Service was fine, we didn't feel rushed.

We were hungry and hadn't thought about where to eat. We have walked by many times, and the dining area has always been full so we decided to try it. Big mistake. The service was okay. However, the food was not. In fact, it's not worth the time or the money. Our granddaughter ordered a pizza with potato ( something... More

Sunday lunch is always a busy time for restaurants in Italy and we hadn't booked so it was as well we arrived early. We sat out in a courtyard which soon filled up with a mix of tourists and residents and enjoyed our food and wine, even though the staff were very rushed. It's always unsettling to see the table... This restaurant is small and very popular, so it's best to book. We had a most enjoyable dinner. Highlights were tuna with eggplant, monkfish, grilled sea bream and fritto misto. Desserts were fabulous, particularly the panna cotta with chocolate. Service was casual, but after all this is Venice, so what's the rush? Prices were average.

To say the service at this restaurant is the worst we experienced in nine days in Italy is quite a distinction. We too were drawn in by the old school trattoria look, but that was just the first ruse. Over priced, uninspired offerings delivered; not served. Too many other restaurants in Venice doing the same thing so much better. Had... More

We had a most enjoyable late lunch at Casino del Nobili in the little outside courtyard. The surroundings are quaint with numerous impressionist paintings around the walls of the courtyard and both the food and service were very good. My wife and I shared a pizza and the calamari which was the best I have had in a long time.... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
