This place came on a list of recommended places from a random Venician I met in London before flying to Venice. The Cicceti is awesome. The house wine was good. Both very good value for money. There is a large selection of very good wines...More

came here on new years eve and moved on three times from three tables by a bad tempered waiter, not a fan of the chicchetti either compared to other places.

Back to Al Timon for evenings of wine, cichetti and the delicious platter of Steak Fiorentina (T-bone). Thanks Andrea and all the staff for making our evenings in Venice so great each time we visit (11 years +). Ci vediamo in aprile!!

I had heard wonderful things about this new venue in Cannaregio. Unfortunately it is a little bit pricy for what you get. Nice decoration though... Friendly staff

Allthough the cannaregio is becoming more popular the 'Timon' is trying to remain the authentic meeting spot of artists and intellectuals of the neighbourhood. Simple but very delicious food and drinks, unless you do not need a formal place you will feel very comfortable!

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

We arrived right when they opened the restaurant. For one hour, they only serve the bread and meats. As soon as we got there, they made us a reservation for dinner. We did not have any previous contact info for them!
