Their lemon gelato is AMAZING. The strawberry ("fragola") gelato was delicious as well, but the "limone" stood out for its smooth richness and burst of flavor without all the tart. We got our cones to go as it seemed full-service tables outside under the awning cost more. The staff was friendly enough, and the gelateria was just around the corner... More

Scoops of rum and raisin, mint and vanilla best preferred, and the chocolate sauce on the Coppa Bella Elena was delish. Great spot in the... More

We stopped for dinner hoping to do some people watching in the piazza while we ate. The staff was less than enthusiastic and we found the food to be the same way. We order bruschetta which was pretty good but the lasagna and the tortellini were way less than impressive. Once we ordered that staff basically disappeared and we sat... More

We arrived here after dinner, looking for a place where to get a drink before going back to the hotel. At the end we had an affogato and two drinks... and we were very satisfied! Suggested place... and try their icecream !

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
