Food was excellent, service was normal for Italy (slower, relaxed), but the waiter we had was unfriendly compared to our experience throughout the rest of our stay

I had a pizza in this restaurant during my last trip to Venice. It was very good. The restaurant is beautiful and really elegant as the city. I recommend it for a romantic dinner or lunch. It is expensive.

My husband and I were recommended this restaurant by the reception staff at our hotel. What a great find. Lovely affordable food close to piazza San Marco. Service was great with waiters and waitress who served us very friendly. Would certainly recommend to friends.

I had the spinach and ricotta ravioli and consequently spent the whole night in the toilet with food poisoning and missed the remainder of my holiday.

Thought we would try this restaurant as it was close to our hotel. Service was very slow and took an age just to ask if we wanted a drink. I had spicy chicken(chicken Diavola) which had no spice at all and looked like a half chicken portion from the local chippy ! My wife had meatballs which were obviously not... More

The restaurant was near to our hotel and convenient as we had only just arrived in Venice and we were tired and hungry. The place was busy which was a good sign and items on quite a varied menu were reasonably priced for such a popular area of the city near to St Marks Square. The food was good and... More

Husband and I had dinner here in dec 2016. We got a small spot for two in the back. Ate the lasagna and spinach ravioli. Both were amazing! Prosecco was 4,5 euros and was also great, a bit fruity but great. My husband had the red by the glass and it was also 5 euros and delicious. Tiramisu for dessert... More

Recommend by the concierge at our hotel, the dinner was wonderful. The food was excellent. Our server was very kind and courteous. Prices are pretty fair for what you you get in return!

My family and I are touring Europe, visiting from Miami. The concierge recommended this restaurant. We ate there twice. The food is ok. The service IS horrible. We ate there the second time because it was close to the hotel (I didn't want to but my wife did out of convenience only.). Both times the waiters were plain RUDE, except... More

Had high hopes as the look and feel of the restaurant was what you would expect from a tradition local eatery, but sadly it was very under parr. I rarely order Spag Carbonara as I rightly or wrongly think I cook it so well, but one has to assume that in the home of pasta, you will be out shone.... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
