It looks like a tiny place from the street but once you get inside it goes on and on. A special place is the garden which is completely enclosed and covered with a huge grape, a great setting. Food is good, prices reasonable...for Venice, and a central location

Absolutely no frills, but simple, delicious and very good restaurant, specializing in the Venetian food. We stopped by a few times while in Venice and enjoyed every single dish (and wine), we've ordered.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we are happy they did. It is small and looks to be family operated. The staff was friendly and accommodating with our requests. The food was not served quickly however it was served hot and it was quite good. I found several restaurants we ate at in Venice served quickly but the food was... More

Small location but great service and food. This was the first place we went for lunch as our hotel "Hotel Flora" was not ready. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and they were very nice to us. We were a party of 7 and they made space for us. We really enjoyed it and as I said we went back a... More

Contradicting a review a week or so ago, this is a wine bar. It certainly looks like ( a cosy) one as you pass over the canal and see the bar. At one of the other entrances ( not the official Martini one) it does look more like a restaurant. Persevere, however: we did. Prior to going to La Fenice... More

We sat in the garden. This place has grown since I visited years ago and now links seamlessly with Martini next door. Pasta starters, were good, fungi and carbonara, mains, veal and fried fish were let down by poor sides. Thin mash potato and stodgy polenta. Over priced tourist trap. Stunning setting though.

We ate at Vino Vino twice during our recent visit to Venice. The Food was very good, but we thought the service was a little off-putting. On our second trip, the waiter showed very little empathy. My wife ordered "lasagna". There were two different lasagnas on the menu and one was a special for that night. She wanted the standard... More

Be careful; the name of the place is misleading. this is not a wine bar, so you cannot just have a glass of wine. we were asked to order food or leave. thats what we did in the end

We returned to this restaurant having visited Venice before. We were seated immediately and the waiting staff were attentive and made the whole meal a pleasure. It is not haute cuisine, but doesn't pretend to be and local dishes such as liver and seafood risotto were delicious. The crochet lampshades are charming and add to the atmosphere. The other comments... More

We were referred to Vino Vino by our hosts who thought it was one of the best in Venice. It was charming and had excellent service. The food was average, but the service was much too fast. You could get out in less than half an hour. I think they could serve you more slowly, so you could feel that... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
