Ok, so we're snobs. Let's get that out of the way. We also kinda forgot to book a single restaurant for our stay in Venice. Just completely slipped our minds. We had the hotel try restaurant after restaurant - to no avail. It was a Saturday. We told the hotel that we wanted fish. They came up with this restaurant.... More

We came across this lovely restaurant while exploring the Jewish Quarter -in a quiet lane away from the crowds- The food was delicious, the four of us chose different seafood and no one was disappointed. The staff were friendly and provided fun service.

This neighborhood restaurant has a richly deserved wide visitor following. It very much belies the adage that good local restaurants do not have menus in several languages. The food is exceptional, and the service is very good. They accommodate requests, such as sharing an appetizer of spaghetti with squid and black ink sauce, graciously. The wine list is large and... Cosy place and fresh fish in the Cannaregio area. Great service and friendly staff. Chicken was a bit dry so we recommend the fish courses.

We were introduced to this restaurant while on a great food tour. The selection was black squid pasta, which none of our party had ever tasted. What an exceptional dish, this is a family run restaurant. The service and the food were outstanding, everyone in our food tour were very impressed. We were only in Venice for three days. The... Visited tonight with my children and friends on recommendation of hotel (who we will question how and why?)...... great location but seemed strange when all good restaurants (and rubbish ones) were full and this was empty apart from a tour group that paid to be there..... and it was expensive compared to other better restaurants in the area. The food... More

This place is off the beaten path but is worth every calorie burned finding it. The main event is seafood - all sorts. And everything is fresh and wonderfully prepared. We were a large group so chose to share a number of first courses - steamed mussels, sautéed clams, grilled shrimp, and crab, among others. All as good as it... More

Last week my wife and I had a long weekend in Venice for the Carnivale. Hotel Boscolo recommended a local restaurant for dinner on our first evening. We enjoyed it so much that we cancelled other restaurants and made a return visit to Pescatori before we left the city. The menu is excellent and extensive, Fish, Meat, Vegetarian or pasta.... More

We went for dinner early, just after 6pm. Had a seafood pasta and a pomodoro. Both were quite tasty. Service was speedy.

Very good restaurant, simple plates but very fresh and tasty. Run by a family, nice atmosphere and great location (use the canal entrance).

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
