A reasonably priced, well run restaurant, with a good ambience and decent service. Cannot fault the place. If you are into seafood, you will love the place. Virtually everything on the menu is centred around fish. BTW - they also offer free wi-fi which is great,. We had dinner in a few other places in Venice .. who tended to... More

This restaurant was close to our hotel. It looks quite ordinary from the outside. We found the staff very welcoming and very tolerant of our poor Italian, helping us with new words instead of rushing us in English which Im sure would have been easier for them. I ordered spaghetti alla vongole, mixed salad, a glass of white wine followed... More

We visited today - this is a small restaurant with a few tables outside. The menu is mostly seafood with some meat dishes. The fried calamari and shrimps was excellent as was the primo of tagliatelle with capesante. The dishes are mainly simple Venetian traditional fare, but the cooking is excellent. The service is fine, staff are generally efficient, polite... More

Chose this place based on reviews and we were not disappointed. The service was efficient and jovial and the food was delicious! We enjoyed a lovely salad starter, followed by the squid ink pasta and the the seafood pasta as entrees. Absolutely the best seafood pasta I've ever had! It was more than generous with the seafood! The wine list... More

So far, the best Zuppa de Pesce I have in a long long time. Then you followed it up with the mixed grilled fish while drinking the refreshing Spritz, it's sealed the deal.

We really enjoyed our meal. We didn't plan our diner, but this restaurant looked cosy. It was full of people, couples, families,... We decided to take diner there and that was a very good choice! I'd advise this restaurant to others! Good food, good prices.

We really enjoyed the Risotto Fungi and Aperol Spritz and our waiter was kind and friendly. This is not a very touristy place, there were lots of locals there and the food was authentic to the region.

I have visited this restaurant on March 2017. This place was suggested by a tour guide, and it certainly fit the bill. I was alone and looking for a place to get some real food, not expensive, at a somewhat late time for lunch around these parts. The service was attentive and fast, I order a pasta dish with scallops... More

My husband and I stayed at a guest house not too far away and had dinner here twice. Arrive before 7 as the place fills up. It has lovely outdoor seating and the food was very good. The service is good: they start you off with some good bruschetta. I really enjoyed my salmon in gnocchi and my husband liked... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
