Venice isn't known for its food, but this restaurant really stood out from the crowd. The menu was very seasonal and the stuffed courgette flowers were incredible as was the cured mackerel. Very good and reasonably priced wine selection also. This place is definitely worth...More

It maybe that its just not our preferred style of restaurant, but we found the service to be intrusive and the atmosphere a little stuffy. Neverthess the food was very good, albeit overpriced as is the case in most restaurants in Venice

Perfect! Service excellent, made a nice change not just to be offered pizza and pasta which is basically every menu in Venice! Loved the food, was by far our favourite meal whilst visiting Venice!

Trip advisor scored this restaurant very highly and we were not disappointed. Reasonable value with very well presented dishes.

Had a fantastic dinner here on our last night in Venice. The food was partnered with a Grumello wine from Valtellina. Highly recommended restaurant.

Absolutely loved this place. Found it on Trip Advisor and such a fantastic change from the more typical slightly over-priced fried fish / pizza menus so commonly found in Venice. Intimate, quiet, a great wine list and fantastic quality food and service. Would highly recommend...More

Good food excellent service. Expect a Proseco as a free aperitif and then end it with a Pouss cafe and cookies. Right by the Chanel with and without views, all your choice. :)

The interior is tasteful, the wine some getting used to (bitter tones) but ok after a while, the service is good and the food is marvelous. Our daughter had a beef burger but asked if the onion could be left out. The waiter replied that...More

Quite courtyard with super food. We had duck breast with grilled vegetables and grilled beef kabob with tsaziki and French fries, all superb. Lovely presentation. The wine by the glass and the stout beer were well matched with each dish. It was a good value...More

We had a beautiful dinner here. A pleasant surprise on our first night. Good atmosphere, not rushed, plenty of space. We could have stayed for another hour and it wouldn't have been a problem. The food quality was excellent and was good value for what...More

Ristorante Ai Mercanti in the heart of Venice between the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco is an upmarket, romantic restaurant in very cool style that enjoys a high-flying gastronomic reputation. The vaulted dining room is decorated in sophisticated terracotta and black with impressive shining globe lighting. The bar is wittily decorated with dressmakers’ forms and sexy corsets – great conversation starters. The menu is classically-inspired Venetian of a high order, focusing on things from the sea and changing every two months to take advantage of the and array of the freshest ingredients in true Italian style and pastas and desserts are all made in-house. In warm weather the dining room sprawls out onto the adjoining campiello for the loveliest al fresco dining anywhere – the Venetians who crowd Ai Mercanti certainly think so.
