Well, This restaurant is really close to my office and for the first time after years I decided to go there to eat during my lunch break. The staff was really kindly and the venue is magical (I guess that during dinner with candlelight it will be so magical). My delicacies was so tasty and I felt in love with... More

The two of us ate here last night (Thursday), started in an empty restaurant and left a full one. (We were fed up with every restaurant in Venice seemingly offering an identical menu, at 'full' prices, and with little choice for me as a veggie.) The staff (owners?) all spoke English and helpfully guided us through the many choices on... More

We stumbled upon this place for dinner. A very friendly welcome from the waitresses. We had a look at the menu, heard the specials and were recommended local beers and then ordered a few minutes later. The entrees came out within seconds (no, really), and they were delicious. We ordered the mixed appetiser platter and it was perfect for two... More

The place is comfy and nice decorated with some Mediterranean art, inside. The food in the other hand is very tasty, the variety of dishes are all mixes of Mediterranean country's which makes the restaurant a unique place to dine in .

We stumbled into this delightful, cozy restaurant, and staggered out full and festive. It is a lovely restaurant, delightful staff, and absolutely delicious food. We ordered a mixed appetizer plate, and the owner quizzed us on our tastes, and delivered a sumptuous tray of delicacies. It is a real treat, and welcome departure from Italian food.

Interesting place to visit, but they should seriously question the fact if they are offering oriental cuisine. As a person from Eastern Europe, I would like to share that those were the worst "sarmi" (the rolls with vine leaves) I have ever tried. The dull with cheese and vegetables has a long way to go until it starts to appear... More

Exhausted and hungry, we searched in vain for a likely-looking good lunch spot in the area around the Chiesa di Frari. Finally asking a local shopkeeper for a recommendation, we were sent to Frary, which in fact faces the church across a little bridge. It turned out to be an excellent recommendation. Frary's is not Venetian or Italian cuisine, but... More

After walking in the labyrinth of tiny streets in Venice we arrived and boy were we happy to see the menu! Moroccan, Lebanese, Iranian, Turkish, there was so much to choose from. We got Tajeens and they were marvelous. The dessert with tea was the perfect ending. Tasty comfort food. We'll definitely go again.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
