Service was good, location to San Marco Square is excellent but was disappointed with the pizza - so hard to cut! But the grilled sea bass is fresh so that covers

Enjoyed an excellent pit-stop of ciabatta and focaccia with freshly squeezed orange juice. Good value at €4.50 for the sandwiches. Just the job before visiting Doges Palace and the Campanile!

We were surprised by the quality of the food for this restaurant so near St Marks Square. Good choices and friendly staff.

This reasonably priced bar and restaurant is really not far from the famous square. There is a restaurant side, and a bar side - for those just wanting a drink with light bites, such as a pizza slice, or ciabatta. beer is bottled, or draught, with a range of wines. Prices are sensible. The staff, could be a bit more... More

It was a lovely restaurant, very deceivingly small from the outside, but quite big as you walk to the back, the meal was lovely and price was reasonable compared to some of the other establishments around the immediate vicinity, however, do walk around a bit, I cannot fault the meal we had, but do wish that we had walked further... We actually ate here twice during our three days in Venice! We found the restaurant to be attractive and clean. The food was delicious and well priced. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommended this restaurant to our tour guide

Came for dinner, decided to try as it looked full of people (although you can never tell in Venice because of tourist numbers!!). The menu was extremely comprehensive - almost confusing. Had a basic meal of Spaghetti Bolognese and a Calzone. Service was quick and delivered piping hot. Tasted really nice, wait person despite being very busy was efficient. However... More

Food: €8 for 2 coca-colas. €21 for spaghetti and one pizza. €4 service charge. Pizza was reasonable enough but not the same as those cooked for italian locals. Spaghetti was reasonable enough. Both portion sizes were smaller. Staff: Spoke Italian and English. Always in restaurant. Didnt have to wait long to get their attention. Food was brought very quickly. Location:... More

Great place for simple lunch that doesn't leave you broke (since most placeses near st mark square are very expensive). Menu is big-something for everyone. Pizzas are big so we took one pizza for two peaople and it was still large portion.

We ate here during a short trip to Venice. We ordered pizza and spaghetti with a bruschetta starter. We had no bread brought to the table and had to ask for it 3 times. The first time we were told it would come out with the main course. I have never seen bread come out with the main course. We... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
