Visited with 3 others , superb modern Italian food , attentive staff and a wonderful lunch experience. I would be happy to recommend this restaurant if you would like an authentic Italian upmarket lunch in the heart of Venice.

I frequent Venice often and thought I know many of the nicer restaurants. Alas, I was mistaken. The restaurant is off a quiet alley not to far from the Railto Bridge. The food is very good, service was excellent, atmosphere was excellent, and prices were reasonable. It was chilly outside the night we dined, so after requesting a romantics outside... More

We booked in on the strength of TA reviews and when we arrived on a nice evening and remembered we had not booked an outside table, it was not a problem for the staff. The 2 guys who ran the outside dining tables were fabulous and before you knew it a fresh table was set up outside just for us... More

sometimes, like in this case, the hotel made bad recommendation. This restaurant just trying to be the fine dining. I had creamy caprese, but really it was tasteless. Burata was liquid and without 'character'. Pasta with sea food- the pieces of pasta was very big and pices of sea food small. I don't say that ther was not enough sea... More

The restaurant offers a nice atmosphere. The staff is just adorable. The food excellent. A very good selection of wines. Not precisely cheap but you are in Venezia. Highly recommended,

We had dinner here on recommendation from our hotel. It was not very busy when we were there and there only appeared to be one waiter working so the service was spotty. The food was great, we had a burrata appetizer that was delicious, we got pasta dishes that were very fresh and well prepared. If the wait staff had... More

This is the best meal that I've ever had in Venice. I started with the five-piece seafood appetizer. It was beautifully presented and maybe the best appetizer I've ever had. I followed that with swordfish in pockets of pasta with an olive and caper sauce. And only because it was my last meal before heading home, I ordered dessert: Baba'... More

It was so hard to choose a restaurant each night, as there are so many excellent establishments to pick from in Venice. We chose this restaurant based on its proximity to our hotel, the reviews and the menu. It was such an amazing choice! The seafood was unbelievably fresh. I had the five taster menu for my starter, which is... More

A staff member at our hotel (Hotel L'Orologio) told us about this place. He said it's where staff go for a birthday or special occasion to enjoy homemade Venetian food. My mother and I had a lovely meal here on our last night in Venice. We ordered the appetizer of the parmesan basket with scallops and artichokes. Delicious! For my... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
