Great views from the seating outside. We visited in December, so the heaters were appreciated! Our waiter was a very polite and helpful. Will try the food next I visit.

Just in front of the Arsenale vaporetto stop, this an elegant place, with very sweet waiters, good food and wifi. We had fillet of sea bass with potatoes and spaghetti, a Bellini and sparkling water. It was good all around and $50. Can see the see the St Mark's bell tower and all the boats moving around at the end... More

This restaurant was highly recommended as a non touristy restaurant with delicious food. The location is lovely and the staff attentive. The food was sub-par and uninspired starting with a bland sopa di pesce to forgettable entrees and a downright awful and FROZEN tiramisu. Avoid.

We stopped here for our first meal in Venice (after a recommendation from our hotel). Wasn't disappointed. After traveling half the day, it was great to sit outside and soak up the sunshine. We ordered the seafood risotto (min. 2 person order) and it was delicious. The seafood tasted so fresh and the risotto itself was full of flavour and... More

I really can recommend this restaurant. I wanted to do something special for my girlfriend and wrote a mail to them in which I've asked for a reservation. I told them what I wanted to achieve and the helped me to realize it. They've bought flowers, the table was with sea view and they've booked a very good Musician. It... More

We ordered seafood and it was good (not top notch but a solid 4*), and the service was generally good but in my opinion they made a huge mistake for a somewhat expensive restaurant (more expensive than average for sure). They had a 1 liter draft beer and I asked them to serve it to me in 2 or 3... More

We wanted a restaurant with a lovely view and in a peaceful location. We were really pleased with this place. The staff were so engaging and the sea bass was probably the nicest I have had. Even the seats were comfortable. Highly recommended.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
