My group of 5 wondered in late afternoon after long day of wandering Venice. The waitstaff was lovely, warm, personable and knowledgeable. But even better was the food. The waiter recommended the fish soup and it was absolutely amazing. The best this NYC resident, who has been to Italy and France several times, has ever had. All the dishes were... More

It's really worth going there. We didn't expect it at all on our last night in Venice. We just wanted to find something close to our hotel and it was the best choice:) we had nice cheese plater which isn't massive but really good quality. Then we had an amazing risotto, the best I ever had. Dessert was great too.... More

Went to this hotel with my dad as it was close to where we were staying. Lovely atmosphere and food was really good. We shared the seafood starter which was absolutely fabulous! Had the gnocchi with beef followed by tiramisu which were also lovely. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Great little find with reasonable prices.

we choose this restaurant for dinner because a) the good reviews and b) the decor looked cool and different from most of the "pretend old osteria" tourist traps. We were not disappointed. Food was delicious; we went for various of the more local specialities, liver, polenta, seppie in black ink. All really to be recommended. Personnel very attentive and quick... More

This restaurant is a very good find in Venice. The traditional Italian food was well-prepared and delicious and the wine menu was extensive. The waiters were professional, polite and quick to serve us. The decor was modern and the overall ambience was welcoming and relaxing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Venice looking for good, authentic Italian food.

Walking around looking for a place to eat, so many choices and I am very happy we sat down here. The service was great, and we were outside but we felt very comfortable as the Calle was not too crowded. The waitress was amazing helping with a very good wine choice and taking care of us. The gnocchi was perfect,... More

What a find. This taverna had an amazing friendly atmosphere when we tried it on day one of our mini break. We all had the menu of the day and it was superb. The restaurant was so good we wet back for our last night. Waiter was very friendly, spoke beautiful English. Would recommend this to anyone.

We had dinner here on our overnight stay in Venice and absolutely loved our meals, all of which had fresh seafood. Would revisit in the future and highly recommend others to come here!

Good service. Best Fish Soup I've ever had. The fish was very fresh. Service was good and no cover charge or service charge.

Modern and cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff and tasty food, especially the various antipasti. Nice selection of wines. Noteworthy are also the little amenities, such as offering a pepper grinder and spicy oil innately or having knives with propper toothing.

Thank Martin B

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
