We found this restaurant whilst wandering through the back streets. Decided to stop for lunch and impressed that so many gondoliers were enjoying lunch. We were served by a delightful waitress. Very helpful and understanding. Happy to help and nothing too much trouble. We had...More

We went here with an advance booking based upon the reviews we read. From start to finish, it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and offered us a seat on the small terrace outside. The canal view was great and the waiter knew his...More

We had a most enjoyable dinner in this quiet area and were very served with food and drinks by attentive staff. We asked the Waiter too advise us on the choice of white wine and were very pleased with the result.

My wife and I dined here on two occasions during our stay in Venice. The food is delicious and a true representation of authentic Venetian food. We were lucky to have one of the tables by the water on both nights which is very relaxing,...More

Cantereggio is on the other side of Venice from San Marco, so it is a little far to go if you are staying in San Marco. But if you are staying in Canteriggio, I would highly recommend this local place for an excellent Venetian dinner.

Pricey but good quality food. We needed some dinner but we were not very hungry. So we each ordered only a secondi. I had a beef fillet with veggies.. there were a lot of veggies! But the flavouring was subtle relying on the quality of...More

One of my favourite restaurants in Venice whilst I was living here. If you've not been before, it's not easy to find but once you do find it you'll feel silly because it actually wasn't that hard to find. Good luck! Despite the canal-side tables,...More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and it was fantastic. Great food and great service in the Cannaregio district. It is a little off the path but a great place to have dinner and the staff is exceptional.

This place offers sumptuous food but is hidden in one of the narrow streets in Venice. The wine options are very good as well. Food is expensive but its worth if you want to escape the crowded restaurants in tourist areas and have good Italian...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

How do you get there from the train station?

Response from OsteriaAlCantinon | Property representative |
Turn left when you're just out of the train station. Take the main road (lista di spagna - strada nova) and keep going for around 12 minutes. Turn right just before the third bridge you encounter. That's campo della maddalena
