Me and my partner decided to eat at this restaurant after viewing some of the menus on offer in the area, we now wish we viewed the reviews before hand! They call this restaurant a pizzeria when the pizzas are clearly from a supermarket, when we finally got the bill they add 2.50 per person for a cover charge, completely... More

I really don't know why this place has so bad reviews - I agree with the other ones! This is not fancy ciusine, it's hands on, down to earth italian food. And you get exactly what's written on the menu, nothing more or less. We have been here four times because we stayed almost opposite the restaurant and it was... More

Well, what to say? Atmosphere was the best thing about this place - it was cosy and comfortable. Unfortunately, it is the first and last good thing I can say about this restaurant. Food - we ordered pizza and it was definitely the worst pizza I have eaten in Italy. Not that it was soo bad but when you order... More

I have eaten at this restaurant many times... and whilst it would be fair to say that it is one amongst many small restaurants in the narrow streets of Venice... I have been satisfied on every occasion... The food is very nice, and good value (considering some prices you can see in Venice) ...The wine is very nice, and reasonably... More

A very tiny restaurant, with a very intimate character, off the beaten tourist track in Venice. We had the best sarde in saor, baccala mantecato and grilled fish that we ate in our whole week in Venice. The service was charming and helpful, and overall it was a wonderful experience.

Sorry I didn't look up tripadvisor reviews which say likewise. Both fish soup and pizza were terrible. They just don't care about their cooking. A tourist trap.

My husband and I had dinner here on our last night in Venice. Though the reviews wasn't so great on this restaurant, we decided to try it anyway. We ordered pasta with shrimp and mushrooms, grill shrimp scampi and king shrimps, also mussels and clams in a broth. They were all amazing and was cooked perfectly. I noticed a lots... More

Attractive restaurant in the centre of Venice. Staff were friendly and service was good. The food was reasonable though not outstanding, and the prices around average for Venice. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the downside is the 14% service charge and €1.5 per head coperto charge. It is possible to find places without these hidden charges but in reality... More

We had a good food experience and no complaints about the service. The prices did not strike me as outrageous and some places charge for service, and others don't. In any case, we would go again to enjoy good Italian fare with a good glass of wine. It has to be said that this restaurant caters to tourists with all... More

The food is reasonable, the service is pleasant, but the prices are way over the top primarily due to service charge

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
