We came here twice. The first time was good & we had the set menu. Actually there are two -- one meat-based, the other fish-based (18 euros for two courses). The food was straightforward but good -- nothing fancy -- and the house wine was delicious. The waitress who served us was absolutely lovely. Several nights later we went back... More

Two of the front of house staff were genuinely nice but the third,(the big guy) was rather brusque with us and other tables. My lobster fettucine was very good and my son and husband said their squid ink pasta was good but my daughter's pesto was *swimming* in oil (clear oil, so not olive - vegetable?). The house wine (merlot)... More

Great, friendly, no frills restaurant. Food was delicious and service timely. The wine wasnt bad either! Would recommend to friends. Great if you're into seafood.

I was hopeful (due to the reviews). My husband and I ordered the lasagna, the lobster fettuccine, and the sea bass ravioli. The food was uninspiring. :-( None of the dishes had any real flavor and I would NOT eat here again.

We had been looking at restaurants in this area for dinner but none of the menus we saw excited us until we came across this one ! The food was excellent and we loved the atmosphere. The service from the tall gentleman who served us was first class and his English was perfect ! Will definitely go back the next... More

My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant completely by chance - and we were glad that we did. The staff were friendly and attentive and made good recommendations. The portions were of a very good size and the food was absolutely delicious. The house white wine was also very good. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

A small restaurant with limited servers. By coincidence, we had a lunch there. Pasta is my recommendation, especially the black ink spagetti..

This restaurant is down a narrow alley near the church San Barnaba. We stopped in without a reservation at 8:30 pm and were warmly greeted by. The waiter. It is a small narrow establishment with great service and a wide variety of meat and especially seafood. The spaghetti with clams made a great starter. There is a nice wine list... More

Enjoyed a splendid lunch here. We've been before and enjoyed a good meal. Our waiter was charming, the atmosphere excellent and the food is authentic, and very well cooked and presented. I would particularly recommend my first course, the tuna tartare - chunks of very fresh raw tuna on a bed of rocket. My husband's sarde in saor was truly... More

Went to this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend and could not have been more impressed. The waiter davide advised us on all so aspects of the meal from the wine to the dessert. And it was all better than we could have hoped. We had the mussels and clams for entree which was recommended even though I don't... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
