We ran into this place on the way back to our Hotel from the Piazzo San Marco and boy were we glad we did. My wife and I had one of the best Crepe's ever fresh and tasty with a multitude of flavours at a reasonable price. It is a takeaway place and you can devour the Crepe whilst wondering... More

This was right outside of our hotel and we stopped in for an after-dinner snack. Boy, did we make the right decision. We kept it simple and just got the Nutella crepe, but is was sooooo delicious! If you're in the Rialto area and looking for a delicious snack, La Maison de la Crepe can't be beat.

Really enjoyed the crepes here. We had a savoury (Fresca..cheese, tomato, ham) and ab ice cream (cookie ice cream, topped with cream). Delicious!!!! Made fresh in front of us. Great service...really friendly and the price was only 9euro for both. Excellent food...will go back next time we visit Venice.

We stumble on this place by accident. My son loves crepes. We got a hazelnut, strawberry and whipped cream crepe. It was made fresh right in front of us. The next day we had trouble finding our way back. There was no giving up for my 12 year old son. He was determined we would make it back to the... More

When all the restaurants seemed to have closed, and you are still hungry, you'd be glad that La Maison de la Crepe is open. It opens quite late and it's just a nice snack when you jet-lagged, hungry and can't find anything else to eat. But you won't be alone since there will likely be a short line with people... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
