We picked this restaurant for it's lovely outdoor setting as was a sunny day. Most of us picked pasta dishes of various kinds but when it arrived it was literally inedible. We rarely send food back but the pasta was so underdone that we would have had indigestion if we'd eaten it. We very discreetly told a waiter who then... More

We stayed at the NH Collection which is very close to this restaurant. After passing several times, we finally stopped on the last Sunday of Carnevale and enjoyed a nice pizza outdoors. Was a simple meal but one of the better we enjoyed in Venice. Bruschetta appetizer and complementary drink (tasted like a strawberry lemoncello) with cookies afterwards were a... More

This is one of the best restaurants in the city when looking for good fish (or even Napolaetan pizza). Not cheap, but cooked to perfection.

I had dinner with my wife at this lovely place. Perfect food ( siciliano risoto ), with a local wine ( named as the restaurant). They gave us a bruschetta as a courtesy for entrance and a butter biscuit with a coffe cream for a desert We shared the risoto. Price: Risoto 20 EUR Wine 20 EUR

Great find, off the main "paths" of Venice. The food was unexpectedly good, which made the pause in this piazza even better.

The restaurant is located in a Campo and has a very sunny terrace, inviting on a cold December day. We had an insalata caprese, a pizza and a spaghetti carbonara. The food was really good, with good portions and very well presented. The staff is nice and attentive. A complimentary fragocello (limoncello made with strawberrys instead of lemon) was an... More

Their strong suite is seafood. We ordered the branzino, or sea bass, baked in salt and it was better than the night before. We were served a complementary starter – bruschetta with anchovies. The pasta servings are large so we shared the linguini with shrimp and scallops which they split for us in the kitchen. Service was well paced and... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
