Tried to book but was full. We took a chance by popping in during the day, luckily, there was a cancellation so we got in later for dinner. Really great service and the food was out of this world. Dinner for four was only 320...More

No two ways about it, this restaurant is expensive at approximately 120 euros per head (inc 10 per cent voluntary tip). But the good news is it was really worth it and we will be going back (though not that often). Unusually for Venice it...More

Spectacular small restaurant a few steps from the water, not far from the Biennale. Spectacular seafood, great wine list and a place we would without question return to on our next visit to Venice. Do not miss Al Covo!

We had a fantastic time at Al Covo! The service was brilliant-Richard gave us great advise as to which foods to go for and even the wine. We were extremely impressed with the food and service. It could not be faulted. Very hospitable. Thank you,...More

Had a wonderful meal, great menu and service. On top of that discovered the smartest wine list in Venice. They had wines from all over Italy, but only the best producers in each region and mostly smaller wineries that make delicious wines at reasonable prices....More

First lunch experience in Venice - couldn't have chosen a better restaurant! Lovely little family run place in a tiny Venetian square (well, more like a triangle 😊). Very welcoming, polite and friendly staff, delicious seafood platter and outstanding grilled baby squid! Our very handsome...More

It's seems silly to add one more five star review to a place that enjoys no negatives; but... Let me say the staff were friendly yes, but more than that genuinely enthusiastic and informative. We closed the place and they treated us with radiant grace,...More

We visited Al Covo for dinner last week and it was perfect! A very romantic, candle lit setting away from the madness of San Marco. The two waiters were a delight and couldn't have done more for us from the moment we stepped in. We...More

Lured by numerous positive reviews, we visited this charming family-owned-and-run restaurant near the Arsenale. Billed as a seafood restaurant, it is unfortunately a little light on mainstream choices. Rather, it veers to the more exotic and esoteric (squid, cuttlefish, eel) as well as pedestrian fried...More

Enjoyed this Ristorante Italianooo. Will Visit the Restaurant Again. Not Easy to find a Place where you have a little bit of Quitness

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri

within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over
one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals

We booked by e-mail before our last visit - ask for a conformation if you are worried. It is quite small but not so small that your booking of 5 would be a problem. The owners are an Italian and his American wife, so it... More

We went for anew a Years Eve, so it was out of the ordinary experience - in every way! I should second what Warren C said - well worth it? Enjoy!
