Really enjoyed a leisurely lunch with red wine. I had spaghetti Nero,my partner had tagliatelle with salmon and we shared some grilled vegetables. For desert I had tiramisu,my partner had gelato, the espresso was excellent. Service was friendly, prices were reasonable and portions generous.

Ended up going here more by accident than anything. Looks ok, from the outside however the food was terrible poorly presented and over priced. Im almost certain the seafood pasta was reheated, the lasagne seemed to lack meat and the garlic bread was well bread, not what i expected from my first meal in Italy . Its not all bad though... Staff were a little quiet until you made the effort to talk to them and then they were quite chatty. Food was good value and tasty and not overpriced for Venice

We ordered seafood pasta and spider crab pasta, pasta was excellent, service was good, waiters take your order and just let you be, just what I like... add bottle of wine the final bill under 50 euros

We head straight to Gianni's for lunch on the first day every time! Good food, reasonable prices, very friendly staff. It's a favourite and has remained so for the 15 years I've been visiting Venice.

I've been returning to the Trattoria da Gianni for years (I often stay in a nearby hotel) and returned earlier this month after having been away for a while. Nothing much has changed - it's still a great place for a simple and authentic Venetian meal (either indoors on a cool evening or outside, watching the crowds on the Strada... More

Great lasagna and funny staffs. We had spaghetti in nero and lasagna. Both the dishes were great. Recommended!

베니스에 와서 배고파서 들어왔던 식당인데 파스타도 맛있었고 디저트도 환상적였습니다ㅎㅎ특히 직원분이 너무 친절하셔서 다시 올것같아요! Dish was very good and dessert also sweet. Very very kind restaurant. When i visit venice once more, I find this restaurant.

Went to this restaurant without reviewing it first. We were hesitant walking in, but we loved the lasagna. It was very meaty and full. We also tried a Merlot that they have in their bar and it was the best red wine we have had in Italy thus far. It is from the Veneto region and we liked it much... More

Booked late Monday afternoon a table for 18 including 3 children & 1 baby. The waiters were amazing from the moment we walked in. They care and attention they paid to both 1 year olds, teasing them and joking with us was brilliant. Our orders were taken quickly, advice given about the dishes and we were pointed in the right... Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
