Drawn in the by the courtyard full of Italian families eating lunch, we decided to grab a table and a Spritz whilst we weighed up what to order. In the end we ordered, a Tomato and Mozzarella salad to share (Caprese) followed by Spaghetti Carbonara and Spaghetti with local clams and mussels. Absolutely everything was sublime. The salad was fresh... More

Great pizza good tiramisu fantastic price. Watching the team at work is a free form dance. They do it so well and with smiles. Not high class but genuine family style class. Not to be missed.

We had the two-course menue (16-18€) - definitly recommended. Food is authentic and the Portion size is good as well. Generally Service is friendly but the waiters sometimes forget orders or bring the wrong Food.

Amazing food that is served quickly and for a very reasonable prices. The wine is about the half price of most places around the area. There is large out door seating area which is lovely for sunny days. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We were very disappointed with the food and staff at Al Nono Risorto on a recent trip. The fish I ordered had so many bones in it, it was almost inedible. It was also overcooked and lacked flavour. The polenta was cold. The scampi my friend ordered was mealy and difficult to eat...gross!!! The staff were sneering and visibly discussing... More

I picked this restaurant for dinner as it had good reviews and was close to my hotel and it did not disappoint. A warm and welcoming atmosphere and great food, it really felt like a family run restaurant and as a solo diner on my first night in Venice they really made my feel at home. Prosecco by the carafe... The last time I was in Venice I wandered into their garden. This time it was my first meal upon my return. Excellent service, excellent atmosphere and excellent food. The pizza is spectacular order some wine and enjoy the afternoon. Will return again.

Popped in for my boyfriend birthday and had a delicious pasta al ragu' (very good) and a bowl of salad, all accompanied by fresh bread and olive oil. At the end we had a piece of homemade tiramisu', which was amazing - really fresh and really homemade. Cherry on top: the whole restaurant was singing happy birthday for my partner... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
