Just a few metres from Rialto down a tiny lane is a great find. The Al Colombo waiters are fun and the food is good What more can I say?

This restaurant exists for only one reason to rip off tourists although the food was acceptable too many hidden charges and high prices. If they put overhead projector on .... leave

This is lovely place everything well done it's not cheap but this is Venice and it is central. Locals know it for its quality. Ate there twice. Once with a party of ninety and then with two. Both a success.

The food was really very good quality but the final price tag of €535 for two people eating with one bottle of wine was scandalous!

Restaurant has a great location not far from Rialto Bridge. A very nice little garden between old palaces. Not so easy to find the place. Wide choice of local fresh fishes ... for example turbot on the ggrill , seafood pasta etc. Good , solid but little bit familiar staff .. definitly not arrogant .... price ? 12 eur /... More

We were a group of 8 ladies from 8 different countries who were escorted to this wonderful restaurant by our private guide. Luckily we did not have to worry about the bill so we could just enjoy our wonderful lunch. It started with pasta with pesto sauce and fresh basil. The main course was a wonderful sea bass cooked in... More

The place looks nice enough and the food is OK, but it is vastly overpriced and the staff are arrogant beyond belief, dismiss you with a sneer. AVOID

Like a lot of things seems nice on the outside. Food ok but terribley overpriced. The service was disgusting. We have never met such a bunch of arrogant, ignorant waiters in my life. We have travelled the world and never had such bad service and their manners were abominable. They really let Venice down. All the other restaurants We visited were... More

Situated near the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square we paid £23 for two very small drinks. It was our intention to eat here but a quick look through the menu was enough to send us running for the hills. The staff seemed very indifferent but were quick to tell us we were situated near St Marks Square. (Not that... More

Four of us had a filet of sea bass, spaghetti with clams, spaghetti with meat sauce, and two bottles of house wine. Anywhere else in town, that would have been maybe 70 Euro. Here it was a whopping 260 Euros! Service and food were good, and I am not overly concerned with price, but this gouging rather put a damper... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
