Terrible service, lousy food. When we asked for desert the girl said: I am your menu! What is this? We have to choose without knowing prices. Very expensive.

We liked this restaurant so much we went there for dinner both nights we were in Venice. We ordered the Steak, Lasagna, and Spaghetti one night and the Steak, Spaghetti and Soup the second. We ordered the chocolate cake and tiramisu both nights. It was just a wonderful evening both nights.

The place was nice enough and the food was fine, but because they ran out of one of the items we ordered, a substitution was recommended to us. We went with it and it was just ok. The rest of the meal was also just ok. What came as a surprise was when we got the check and realized that... More

Stopped here to try the Cicchetti We have eaten here in the restaurant before, but to the side there is a great cicchetti bar selling typical Venetian snacks. There was a great variety of fish, prawns, squid etc. We ordered the misto and a bit of everything Good choice of wine by the glass and frequented by locals.

Spontaneous decision to have a drink and a snack - we stayed the whole evening in great atmosphere with other guests and the personnel! The lady behind the bar is just awesome and very sympathic! The typical Venetian Antipasti and snacks are fresh, tasty..delicious. Very good and different kinds of wine! We will come back! And I missing you now... More

We have enjoyed the tapas bar for the last few nights with a few wines and decided to eat in at the restaurant. So glad we did. The salted baked fish was excellent. The service was excellent. I probably didn't need the grappa, (gratis).

This review is of the bacaro (wine bar) attached to the trattoria, linked by an arched doorway inside. It offers a very good range of cicchetti and reasonably priced wine. in my view, the staff are not amongst the liveliest I've met, but they are efficient. The bacaro is located in Calle delle Botteghe, of Campo Santo Stefano. I think... More

Ok it's Venice, I know I've got to be careful with food due to allergies to shell fish so typically I'll go with Padta Pompidoro red sauce call it a day and wait for Rome or Florence so I can't get caught in cross food contamination from a grill . At this establishment I went with pasta Bollognes and a... More

My wife and I stopped here for lunch on the way to the Gallerie dell Accademia. We started with the Antipasto, had two fish dishes and three glasses of wine. The only thing that was memorable was the bill: 102 E!

Description
You may fall upon Trattoria Da Fiore restaurant in Venice with cries of delight not only is it a charming, laid-back trattoria run by a native Venetian family, it is also incredibly affordable for this high-ticket city. Near Piazza San Marco, too, so its perfect for every kind of tourist or business noshing. A small, historic, charming spot with a separate space for those who wish to just nibble cichetti and drink a glass of wine, Trattoria Da Fiore has the beamed ceilings, warm plastered walls and dark wood seating and white table linens all typical of Venetian eateries. The menu is Italian and Sergio and his two children pay particular attention to the choice of wines. The house specialty is pennette da Fiore for two with olive oil, garlic and seven seasonal vegetables, though some swear by the zuppa di pesce alla chef brimming with just about everything that swims, perhaps followed by sgroppino al limone to finish. Youll find Trattoria Da Fiore full of both tourists and locals, and something of a triumph.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
