Bentigodi is one of the few restaurants in central Venice that is not a tourist trap. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner. I had ravioli in a light tomato sauce for lunch one day, and when I returned for dinner they...More

We went here based upon Fodor's book recommendation backed up by Google stars review (while in Italy I tried to find 4 stars and above on Google combined with just one "$" on Fodor's). Bentigodi was worth the 45- minute travel from the Hilton Molino....More

Our last night in Venice and we are running out of time. Wandering aimlessly, searching for a nice quiet place for dinner. It has started to rain, we are desperate. Then at the corner of my eye, a glimpse of light down an empty side...More

We are at Bentigodi on our first evening in Venice. I found the restaurant through tripadvisor being close to our hotel. The atmosphere was very good, the staff friendly and efficient. The food is “average to good” but the portions a little too big for...More

What a lovely restaurant, with beautiful singer/guitar (mix of Italian music, Beatles, etc) - great atmosphere. We lingered over our delicious meal in this romantic spot. Highly recommend for a delicious meal and special experience.

We chose this delightfully quiet but superb restaurant by accident, but what an excellent choice. Away from the 'touristic' restaurants we enjoyed our meal so much that we returned the following night with our daughter and boyfriend and the attentive, personal service and amazing fresh...More

We wandered in here for lunch after breezing by the touts on the adjoining main street. Overall food in Venice seems directed at tourists, which makes sense given the hordes wandering the streets each day, so it was pleasant to see a menu that was...More

We enjoyed our lunch in this restaurant. We had some very tasty burrata ravioli and for dessert creme brule and chocolate lava cake. Definitely a place to visit. Cheers.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
