Nice food and company, we had a scallop for starter, spaghetti bolognese for main course and two glasses of wine. Total cost 88 Euro. Very expensive for such dinner.

We have visited this resturant twice now, once as a couple in August and once with friends in October. Both times we ate some fantastic but different food. The staff are really friendly and helpful, playful even making for a really enjoyable night. Book though as it does get very busy!

We visited the restaurant based on its menu and reviews. Although the food was good we got tourist scammed in this restaurant which really ruined the complete experience. Scam 1: I ordered a plate that specifically stated on the menu " Grilled meat with vegetables" upon ordering the waiter asked me if i would like it with grilled vegetables or... More

After walking in the city I found this place and decided to have lunch there. The place is very nice and the stuff is friendly. Their salad P.Pietra is perfect! The pasta with sardines was good but for me the taste of the pasta with fish seemed a little bit strange. Good home wine. In general I was very glad... More

After a long day in Venice we wanted to enjoy a meal with our children which was tasty and filling. This was way beyond our expectations. We were welcomed in and although two of us are vegetarians there were delicious choices available. The donkey ragu was considered very tasty and the artichoke salad was yummy. We all loved the plentiful... More

Alcova del Frate was recommended to us by a NYC friend who grew up in Italy and spends a lot of time in Verona. It's a cozy-feeling neighborhood place with a very ambitious wine list that's reasonably priced and well-selected. The cooking is strictly local in character, and the food is delicious. One of the owners was very attentive to... More

This has to easily be one the best restaurants in Verona, the setting, the food, the wine and the staff all make it great. The starters we had were both delicious, and plentiful. I had the lard on a thin neopolitan bread and my girlfriend opted for the charcuterie board. For mail I had the caval and spaghetti and my... More

Upon arrival late last night me and my husband visited this restaurant and I am very glad we did. We shared a ham platter for starter which was delicious and for main my husband had the beef which was cooked to perfection and I had the tagliatelle of the day which had the meat of a local small chicken type... Sitting outside in the September sunshine this little restaurant was just perfect. Typical Veronese cuisine so we avoided the spaghetti with donkey ragu (!!) and instead enjoyed a tomato and mozzarella pasta dish. Waiters were very keen to promote the local and organic produce used in their dishes and very friendly. House white wine was of great quality. Definitely worth... More
